Visitors can see the skyline from the water or walk across a historic bridge for different views of Buda and Pest.
Saturday evening is a chance to discover Hungary’s wine culture. The country produces sweet and dry white wines in Tokaj, reds from Eger and Villány, and volcanic wines from around Lake Balaton.
Budapest’s nightlife ranges from riverside terraces and neighbourhood pubs to music venues and converted courtyards. The Jewish Quarter is associated with the city’s ruin-bar culture. Visitors looking for a quieter evening can instead walk around St Stephen’s Basilica, the Danube Promenade or Pest.
Sunday: Race Day
Sunday is dedicated to the main event. Fans should arrive early to allow time for transport, security checks and the supporting programme.
The Hungaroring first hosted Formula 1 in 1986 and is now one of the championship’s established European venues. Its twisting layout can make overtaking difficult, placing importance on qualifying position, tyre management and strategy.

Some baths preserve features associated with the Ottoman era, while others occupy grand complexes dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A few hours in the thermal water provides a welcome contrast to the heat, crowds and walking of the race weekend.

Rather than selecting a particular hotel, visitors should consider which part of Budapest best suits their plans. Pest offers easy access to restaurants, nightlife and public transport, while Buda is generally quieter and convenient for the Castle District.
