ONTARIO, Calif., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For the second year in a row, Ontario International Airport (ONT) ranks No. 2 among all medium-sized airports in the JD Power 2026 North America Airport Satisfaction StudySM.

For the second year in a row, Ontario International Airport (ONT) ranks No. 2 among all medium-sized airports in the JD Power 2026 North America Airport Satisfaction Study.

ONT earned a customer satisfaction score of 705 – just seven points behind the top-ranked position.

Importantly, ONT ranked No. 1 in two key categories: Arrival/From Airport Experience and “level of trust.”

“Being ranked No. 2 among North America’s medium-sized airports for the second consecutive year is a tremendous achievement, but what I’m most proud of is what sits behind that ranking,” said Atif Elkadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA). “Passengers are telling us they trust ONT, they value the experience we provide and they feel the difference when they travel through our airport. Ranking No. 1 in both passenger experience upon arrival and level of trust speaks volumes about our people and the culture we have built here.”

“Recognition like this doesn’t happen by accident, and sustaining it year after year is even harder. It is the result of thousands of interactions every day and the collective commitment of our employees, airline and business partners, stakeholders and Board to create an airport experience worthy of the communities we serve. Everyone who is part of the ONT family should take tremendous pride in what we have accomplished together.”

The JD Power study measures passenger satisfaction across seven key dimensions, including ease of travel through airport, terminal facilities, airport staff, and the food, beverage and retail experience. ONT’s back-to-back second-place rankings underscore the airport’s commitment to its growing customer base. Passenger volumes have risen 75% since the airport’s return to local ownership in 2016, and ONT is on track to serve more than 7 million travelers this year.

Elkadi said the recognition is particularly meaningful as ONT approaches a decade under local ownership and prepares for its next era of growth.

“Over the past decade, we have worked to build an airport that Southern California can truly call its own, one that is easy to use, welcoming, innovative and deeply connected to the region it serves. As ONT continues to grow and we move forward with the next generation of our airport, we are determined to protect what makes this place special. More passengers, more destinations and new facilities should never come at the expense of the experience our customers have come to expect.

“We’re incredibly proud to be No. 2 again. But we’re not building ONT to be second best. Our aspiration remains clear: to deliver the best airport experience in North America.”
