NEU+ Founder Jak Leese discusses modern burnout, HYROX, mental health and building a wellness brand focused on energy, recovery and community.

Burnout, stress and low energy have become normalised in modern life — particularly among entrepreneurs, high performers and people constantly living in “go mode”. But for entrepreneur and wellness founder Jak Leese, health is no longer about appearances or quick fixes. It’s about recovery, mindset, purpose and creating stronger communities around wellbeing.

Based in Corby, Jak Leese is the founder behind several businesses spanning fitness, events, hospitality and transport, including Midlands Hybrid Fitness and emerging wellness brand NEU+. A father of one and passionate advocate for mental and physical wellbeing, Jak’s journey into wellness came after a deeply personal period supporting a close friend through addiction and mental health struggles, while quietly dealing with burnout himself.

Now, through fitness, endurance training, HYROX and NEU+, Jak is focused on helping people improve their health in a more realistic and sustainable way — centred around movement, routine, mental resilience and human connection.

In this interview, Jak opens up about modern addiction culture, the pressures facing men today, why loneliness is becoming one of society’s biggest hidden health issues and how NEU+ aims to support energy, recovery and overall wellbeing in an increasingly overstimulated world.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Jak Leese, 34 year old father to the most wonderful 3 year old Mae, I’m based in Corby. I am a entrepreneur I’m involved in several businesses across fitness, wellness, events, hospitality and transport, including Midlands Hybrid Fitness, Corby Star Cars, Tuckers Catering Services, Gainsborough Park Developments, Central Autopoint Limited and my newest venture, NEU+.Everything I do is centred around bringing people together and helping them improve their health, mindset and performance. Whether it’s through fitness events, wellness products or community projects, I’ve always wanted to build things that have a genuine, positive impact on people’s lives.I’m big on energy, community and creating opportunities. I believe that when people are moving, connecting and feeling better within themselves, good things tend to follow.

How did you journey come to this?

Honestly, it came from real life and real struggles.A few years ago, I went to London with a close friend who was struggling with addiction and mental health. While I went down to support him, conversations with doctors and specialists made me realise I wasn’t in the best place myself either. From the outside everything probably looked fine, businesses, fitness and constantly being busy However internally I was stressed, burnt out and not dealing with things properly. That experience completely changed how I viewed health and how I was living my life.Health stopped being just about looking fit. It became about energy, mindset, recovery, purpose and genuinely feeling good within yourself.Fitness, endurance training and HYROX became a huge outlet for me. It gave me structure, discipline, clarity and, most importantly, a strong sense of community. A lot of what I build now comes from that place. Wanting to help people feel better physically and mentally, because I know what it’s like when you don’t.

What health issues are seeing most prevalent in people that they can’t get on top of?

Stress, burnout and addiction in all forms.Addiction isn’t just drugs or alcohol anymore. People are addicted to pressure, phones, work, gambling, validation and constantly being busy. Most people are exhausted, sleeping badly, eating poorly and living overstimulated lives.Loneliness is also a massive issue. We’re more connected online than ever, yet many people still feel isolated and disconnected. That’s why community is such a big focus for me.

What needs to change about the health industry?

The industry needs to become more honest and less focused on quick fixes. There’s too much emphasis on hacks, shortcuts and overnight transformations. Most people don’t need extreme solutions, they need consistency, support and better daily habits.Health should be simple: move more, sleep better, eat better, manage stress, be around good people and have purpose. There also needs to be more openness around mental health, particularly among high performers who are often struggling quietly behind the scenes.

What are 3 pieces of lifestyle advice you could give to someone who is struggling with their health?

Create structure
Most people don’t need a miracle, they need routine. Sleep properly, move daily and stop living in chaos.Move your body every day
You don’t need to become an athlete overnight. Movement changes everything mentally and physically, whether that’s walking, training or running.Don’t be afraid to ask for help
Too many people suffer in silence. Being honest about where you’re at is one of the strongest things you can do.

What is NEU+ and why does it work?

NEU+ was created from a genuine desire to help people feel better.Burnout and low energy have become normal, and they shouldn’t be. NEU+ is built around supporting energy, recovery and overall wellbeing in a modern lifestyle. For me, it’s more than just a product. It represents performance, recovery and improving quality of life day to day. Everything behind it comes from real experience, not just branding.

Where do you see the brand developing further?

I see NEU+ becoming a much bigger wellness and performance brand over the coming years. That includes products, but also events, education, fitness and community initiatives, as well as collaborations with athletes and people who genuinely want to improve health in the right way.

The ultimate goal is impact. If we can help more people feel better physically and mentally while building strong communities around that, then that’s what success looks like to me.
