September 1, 2026, Valley Oaks Health is expanding Primary Medical Care to its Rensselaer office, bringing integrated, whole-person healthcare closer to home for residents in and around Jasper and Newton Counties.
Rural communities across Indiana continue to face challenges accessing timely healthcare. According to the Indiana Rural Health Association, rural communities have approximately five primary care physicians for every 10,000 residents, compared to eight per 10,000 residents in urban areas. “Timely access to local healthcare in Rural Indiana has become increasingly difficult for many reasons. Valley Oaks Health’s Primary Care will be open to all community members and will welcome new patients regardless of whether they are currently receiving behavioral health services. Valley Oaks Health accepts Medicaid, Medicare, most commercial insurance plans, welcomes those that are uninsured, and offers several financial assistance options for eligible individuals.
