Community-Based Health Plans Partner with Local Organizations to Support the Health and Well-Being of Texas Families
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As students across Texas begin a new school year, the Texas Association of Community Health Plans (TACHP) is encouraging families to prioritize their health and take advantage of the services and resources available through their community health plans and community-based organizations.
TACHP member health plans serve families in communities across Texas, connecting children and parents with preventive care, behavioral health services and other resources designed to help them stay healthy throughout the school year. By partnering with community-based organizations, schools, healthcare providers and other local organizations, TACHP members also help address the broader factors that influence the health and well-being of individuals and families.

- Hearing assessments
- Age-appropriate wellness checkups
- Behavioral health services and screening for anxiety, depression and other concerns
- Connections to community-based organizations and local resources that support the broader needs of individuals and families
- Support and strategies for managing school-related stress and promoting overall wellness
Through partnerships with community-based organizations, TACHP members work to strengthen the health of the communities they serve and support the holistic needs of individuals and families.
