PONDERAY, Idaho, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Patriot Dynamic Systems (PDS) today announced Adaptive Kinetics, a bolt-on active suspension for three-quarter-ton through Class 5 heavy-duty trucks. It ends the leaf-spring ride without cutting, welding, or modifying the frame.
Built in a chassis shop. PDS is owned by engineers and builds Patriot Chassis replacement frames in Ponderay, Idaho — complete builds fetching more than $200,000. Those frames needed a suspension to match, so co-founder Jason Johnson built one and tested it nine years on the Purcell Trench Ranch proving ground in the Idaho backcountry: 220,000 miles under load, off-trail, zero failures.
Two suspensions in one. Loaded, Adaptive Kinetics runs a progressive rate like a leaf spring: tows and hauls without squat or sway. Unloaded, it runs a linear rate like a coilover. It self-levels to 33 degrees, delivers more than 20 inches of wheel travel and 44 inches of articulation, and sets ride height from stock to 16 inches of lift from the cab. The active system reads the road at 1,000 Hz with automatic sway control and speed-based ride height.
Passive to fully active. The base system is four passive shocks and the four-link; add the active system for four-wheel active damping and leveling. Active systems offer double or triple redundancy — the only triple-redundant truck suspension available — on a closedloop pneumatic circuit that never draws moisture or dust.
Diamond-Like Carbon, standard. Every nitrided shock shaft is DLC-coated — a fraction the friction of chrome — for the softest highway ride in active suspension. Equipment, not a modification. Installation is a 20-to-24-hour bolt-on. The truck returns to stock for lease return or resale; the system moves to the owner’s next truck.
Warranty: Shocks carry a 10-year, 1,000,000-mile warranty; all other components, three years.*
