The 344 megawatt solar facility marks a decade of delivering reliable energy and economic benefits as Arevon advances additional development in the region
CLARK COUNTY, Nev. and SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Arevon Energy, Inc., a leading American energy developer, owner, and operator, celebrates 10 years of operations at its Moapa Solar Project. Located on the Moapa River Indian Reservation in Clark County, Nevada, the 344 megawatt (MWdc) solar facility began commercial operations in 2016 and has delivered significant benefits throughout its decade of operations, including:
- Power for more than 53,000 homes annually: Moapa Solar generates enough electricity each year to power more than 53,000 homes, contributing domestically produced energy to the region.
- Avoidance of more than 325,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually: Each year, the project helps reduce emissions through solar energy generation.
- Savings of nearly 6.9 billion gallons of water annually: Solar generation at Moapa avoids the use of approximately 6.9 billion gallons of water each year.
- Landowner payments to the Moapa Band of Paiutes: Moapa Solar provides ongoing payments to the Tribe, delivering an additional source of long-term economic benefits.
- Property tax contributions to the community: Over its operating life, Moapa Solar is expected to contribute property tax payments that support local services and essential area operations.
Arevon and the Moapa Band of Paiutes recognized the anniversary during a community celebration held September 26 on the Reservation, bringing together Tribal members and their descendants, elected officials, Arevon employees, and community partners to commemorate 10 years of Moapa Solar operations and the longstanding partnership between Arevon and the Tribe. Speakers included Chairwoman Janet Myers of the Moapa Band of Paiutes; Congressman Steven Horsford, 4th District of Nevada; Gregory Anderson, Sr., former Chairman and current Vice Chairman of the Moapa Band of Paiutes; Darren Daboda, former Chairman and current Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Moapa Band of Paiutes; Vickie Simmons, former Chairman of the Moapa Band of Paiutes; and Justin Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Arevon.

Arevon has three additional projects under development in the area that would expand the company’s solar and energy storage presence in Nevada. The projects would add battery storage capacity that can store electricity when demand is lower and dispatch it when demand is highest, helping strengthen the electric grid and maximize the value of existing and new solar generation.
- Moapa Energy Project: Arevon is advancing a battery energy storage addition at the Moapa Solar Project that would provide 250 MW/1,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery storage capacity. The project is anticipated to be operational in 2029.
- Eagle Shadow Mountain Energy Project: Arevon is developing a 300 MW/1,200 MWh battery energy storage addition to its existing 383 MW Eagle Shadow Mountain Solar Project on the Moapa River Indian Reservation. The solar facility began operations in 2023 and provides electricity to NV Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement. The battery storage addition is expected to be operational in 2028.
- Yahthumb Energy Project: The proposed solar-plus-storage project would add approximately 316 MW of solar generation and 250 MW/1,000 MWh of battery energy storage on the Moapa River Indian Reservation, further expanding Arevon’s energy development in partnership with the Moapa Band of Paiutes. Yahthumb is anticipated to be operational in 2031.
