New Barn Organics’ Buckwheat Milk Begins Rollout at Whole Foods Market

FULLERTON, Calif., Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — New Barn Organics, a leader in regenerative organic-certified foods and plant-based milks, and BAM the Brand, Inc. (BAM), maker of America’s first buckwheat-based plant milk, have partnered to accelerate buckwheat’s role in regenerative agriculture and expand its place in the American diet. Starting today, New Barn Organics will roll out its new Buckwheat Milk on store shelves at regional Whole Foods Markets across Southern Pacific, Northern California, Southwest, Rocky Mountain, and Florida.

New Barn Organics Buckwheat Milk

The relationship began through Whole Foods Market’s Local and Emerging Accelerator Program (LEAP), where BAM was selected as a participant and paired with New Barn as a mentor. The partnership has since grown to bring BAM’s buckwheat ingredient platform together with New Barn’s expertise in organic, regenerative food production and retail distribution. As part of the collaboration, New Barn acquired BAM’s Buckwheat Milk recipes and is bringing Buckwheat Milk back to market. With New Barn as its first commercial customer, BAM will expand its role as a supplier, scaling the ROC™ buckwheat supply chain and introducing its Buckwheat Milk Powder across new categories.

“The CPG industry is competitive, and we saw a unique opportunity to be stronger together,” said Paige Hansen, Founder and CEO of BAM the Brand, Inc. “Plant-based milk remains a core category, and Buckwheat Milk is a natural next step as consumers seek regenerative, delicious ways to diversify their diets. This partnership accelerates category growth and enables BAM to expand buckwheat into new formats.”

Through this partnership, New Barn Organics will bring Buckwheat Milk to consumers under the New Barn brand, powered by BAM’s innovative Buckwheat Milk Powder, a shelf-stable ingredient developed to make buckwheat more scalable and versatile across food and beverage applications. The newly launched milk is gluten-free, Certified Seed Oil Free and Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™), marking the first New Barn SKU built from the ground up as ROC™.

BAM and New Barn worked closely with the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA), the nonprofit that administers the Regenerative Organic Certified® standard, to develop the supply chain for the product line. ROA’s guidance and support were instrumental in helping bring the ROC-certified product to market and establish a scalable supply chain for regenerative buckwheat.

“We chose buckwheat because of BAM’s early leadership and the consumer traction Paige created,” said Jasen Ureña, Vice President of New Barn Organics. “BAM’s innovation gives us a powerful ingredient to build from, and we’re thrilled to bring it to consumers through the New Barn portfolio.”

“At Whole Foods Market, one of our core values is to practice win-win partnerships with our suppliers, so it’s an extra win for us when two of our suppliers join forces like this,” said Lisa Tosun, Emerging Brands Forager for Whole Foods Market. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with New Barn Organics for about nine years now and knew when BAM joined our LEAP cohort back in 2023 that these two brands would instantly connect through their commitment to regenerative agriculture. I look forward to seeing the good they accomplish together!”

This collaboration unites the trailblazing energy of an emerging startup with the scale and expertise of an established operator, forging a powerful alliance to advance regenerative agriculture and protect and support biodiversity. Together, BAM and New Barn Organics are setting the stage for buckwheat to become a cornerstone of a healthier, more resilient food system.
