Full-resolution transparent PNG downloads stay free with no account and no watermarks, while most tools in the category reserve full-quality exports for registered or paying users.
RICHMOND, BC, Aug. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Jukebox, the online printing company named Best Overall by Forbes Advisor and a New York Times Wirecutter pick, today announced the most powerful release yet of its free remove background tool, which has delivered millions of free image downloads. The update adds free 4x HD image upscaling built directly into the download step, raises the maximum upload size to 25MB per photo, and supports batches of up to 50 images at once. Every export is a full-resolution transparent PNG, free, with no account, no watermark and no locked download quality.
That last part is what sets the tool apart. Jukebox’s background remover is one of the only free background removal tools that exports full-resolution transparent PNGs with no signup, no account and no watermarks. Across the category, full-quality downloads are typically reserved for registered or paying users, with free versions capped at reduced resolution. Jukebox has taken the opposite position: the full-resolution result is the free product, for every user, on every image.
The new image upscaler is the headline addition. Once a background has been removed, users can enlarge and sharpen the final cutout up to 4x before downloading, turning small or low-resolution photos into files clean enough for large-format use. It works on hair, shadows and fine edge detail, and it runs inside the same workflow, so nothing has to be moved into a second application.
The update also expands the tool’s creative range with Effects 3.0: new filters, layered outlines that can be stacked and reordered, custom and gradient strokes, wavy and jagged edges, fades and paper cutout effects. Users can add text, mask images into shapes, apply shadows, pull from stock photography, upload their own backgrounds or generate new ones with AI, making the background remover the center of a complete creative workflow rather than a single-purpose utility.
What no other tool in the category offers is where the workflow ends. A finished cutout can be sent directly into the Jukebox Sticker Maker, where die-cut lines are generated automatically, and from there produced as professionally printed custom stickers. From a photo on a phone to a printed product at the door, the entire pipeline runs through one free tool.
The background remover supports JPG, PNG and WebP files and is available now at jukeboxprint.com, free to use with no registration required.
