Inga Ellzey Billing Companies Urges Dermatology Practices to Review Mid-Year Revenue Cycle Performance

The dermatology billing company recommends reviewing denials, aging accounts, and other key performance indicators at mid-year.

CASSELBERRY, Fla., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Inga Ellzey Billing Companies is encouraging dermatology practices to conduct a mid-year revenue cycle check to identify potential revenue loss and address problems while there is still time to improve financial performance before year-end.

A practice’s overall collection totals may not provide a complete picture of its financial health. Inga Ellzey Billing Companies recommends reviewing key revenue cycle indicators, including net collection ratio, denial trends, accounts receivable aging, and first-pass claim acceptance. These metrics can help practices identify revenue that may be going uncollected due to documentation, coding, authorization, payer, or workflow issues.

Denial reports can also provide valuable insight when practices look beyond individual unpaid claims. Recurring patterns involving specific payers, CPT codes, providers, locations, modifiers or authorization requirements may indicate underlying problems that should be addressed to prevent continued revenue loss.

“A practice can appear financially healthy while still leaving earned revenue uncollected,” said Inga Ellzey, Owner of the Inga Ellzey Billing Companies. “Revenue loss is not always obvious, and recurring denials, aging accounts and other trends can quietly impact a practice’s bottom line. A mid-year review gives dermatology practices an opportunity to identify those issues and make corrections while there is still time to improve performance before year-end.”

Even relatively small improvements in revenue cycle performance can strengthen cash flow and provide additional resources for staffing, technology, equipment or practice growth.
