New platform gives charitable fund sponsors the tools to offer individual families the kind of perpetual, endowment-style giving structure once reserved for institutions

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Give Interactive, LLC today announced the launch of Give Legacy Fund, a new platform for perpetual giving vehicles. Give Interactive is a financial technology platform built for the investment management complexity of charitable giving vehicles. Give Legacy Fund lets charitable fund sponsors offer individual families their own perpetual giving and estate legacy vehicles, at scale.

Perpetual, endowment-style giving has always been an institutional idea. Universities, hospitals, and large foundations hold funds forever, governed by formal spending policies set by a board. Individual families who wanted that same “give forever” structure had few real options: build a private foundation, or ask a sponsor to hand-build a one-off arrangement, usually reserved for only their largest relationships. Give Legacy Fund changes that. It takes the investment structure and spending discipline of an institutional endowment and turns it into a product any charitable fund sponsor on the Give Interactive platform can offer an individual family, sized to that family’s own giving strategy.

How It Works

Give Legacy Fund lets a family, not just an institution, set up a named legacy fund with the same structural building blocks large endowments use, on a scale and timeline that fits their own estate and giving plans:

  • Flexible investment structures. Portfolios can be built as commingled or pooled investment strategies, direct private equity and other direct private investments, separately managed accounts (SMAs), or any combination of the three. That flexibility lets sponsors serve a far wider range of family investment preferences without building or licensing separate infrastructure for each account type.
  • Configurable distribution rules, built to run in perpetuity. A designated grant module lets fund holders set distribution as a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of fund value, or a blend of both, so payout rates flex with investment performance while preserving corpus. Once set, these rules run indefinitely without ongoing manual administration, letting sponsors sustain the relationship and the fund’s integrity across future generations.
  • Built-in compliance automation. The platform manages the compliance work sponsors currently manage by hand or outsource: §4943 excess business holdings monitoring, spending policy and prudent spending rate compliance, distribution and corpus preservation tracking, and minimum balance thresholds. This has historically been the biggest reason sponsors couldn’t offer perpetual funds beyond their largest relationships.
  • Bulk rebalancing across funds. Administrators set target allocations for each fund, then rebalance an entire book of funds back to target in a single action, replacing the fund-by-fund manual process sponsors rely on today.
  • Private equity and alternative assets support. Dedicated product management modules allow administrators to build and manage longer-duration public and private portfolios directly on Give’s system, so sponsors can support the multi-decade investment horizons true endowments require without adding outside vendors or manual workarounds.
  • Its own fee schedule. Give Legacy Fund can be priced and billed as its own product line, separate from a sponsor’s standard DAF fee structure. That gives administrators a new, dedicated revenue stream.

Together, these capabilities support a scenario like this: the Marmot family contributes $1 million into a named legacy fund meant to give in perpetuity. The administrator sets an investment allocation tailored to the family’s own strategy, whether pooled, direct, SMA, or blended, and rebalances that fund back to target alongside the rest of the sponsor’s book in a single bulk action. On a recurring basis, the platform applies the family’s predefined rules automatically, moving distributable investment gains into the fund’s available balance and issuing grants to charity without ongoing manual intervention. The result for the sponsor: a personal, institutional-grade giving vehicle administered at scale, delivering the same discipline a university endowment applies, now built for one family’s estate plan.

“Over the past decade, we’ve continued to see more demand for private-foundation and family-office-style tools inside the donor-advised fund and charitable administration space,” said Lucas Cherry, Founder & CEO of Give Interactive. “Families have wanted advanced current and legacy giving tools for their own philanthropy, but there was no real way to offer it outside a private foundation or a sponsor’s largest relationships. Give Legacy Fund is our response, built alongside some of the industry’s leading financial services and foundation clients. It’s also just the first of a series of new product strategies we’re rolling out over the next 12 to 18 months with our industry’s market leaders.”

Why It Matters

For wealth managers and DAF sponsors, this product creates two opportunities. First, sponsors can capture assets and relationships that might otherwise go to private foundations or dedicated family-office solutions, while deepening the donor’s connection to the sponsoring organization. Second, Give Legacy Fund creates an opportunity for perpetual asset protection and management.

As the DAF industry has seen rapid growth, DAF sponsors are differentiating themselves in a number of ways, and this new product offering helps drive a stronger competitive advantage. The conversation extends naturally into multi-generational and estate planning — precisely the kind of engagement that keeps a firm relevant to the next generation of a family, not just the generation that opened the account.

Give Legacy Fund also extends Give Interactive’s core strength, handling investment management complexity that general-purpose administration systems can’t, into a new product category. Give Interactive built the platform to serve the full range of charitable fund sponsors: donor-advised fund sponsors, community foundations, and private foundations alike. That means sponsors and their family clients get one consistent set of tools no matter which vehicle makes sense for a family’s giving strategy.

Give Legacy Fund is available now to Give Interactive’s administration and software clients.
