Executives bring experience from private equity, investment banking, Houston Rockets, Nike and Under Armour.

HOUSTON, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — David Weekley Homes, one of the largest privately held home builders in the United States, has added two executives with extensive experience in business, finance and brand strategy to its leadership team. Adam Zylman has joined David Weekley Homes as Chief Financial Officer, and Julian Duncan has joined the company as its first Chief Marketing Officer.

Adam Zylman, Chief Financial Officer, David Weekley Homes

“Adam and Julian bring tremendous experience that will be valuable as we continue to grow David Weekley Homes,” said Jay Brown, Chief Executive Officer of David Weekley Homes. “Adam’s experience investing in and building businesses will bring valuable perspective to our financial strategy. Julian’s experience building brands and connecting with customers will strengthen our marketing. They both put people and culture first, which makes them a great fit for Weekley.”

Zylman founded Grey Owl Partners in 2019 and previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Sunland Capital, which he co-founded in 2009. He also spent more than a decade in private equity and investment banking with SCF Partners and Merrill Lynch’s Global Energy & Power Group. His background in investments, finance and building businesses will bring additional perspective to the company’s financial planning and strategy.

Duncan most recently served as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for the Houston Rockets and previously as Chief Marketing Officer for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also spent more than a decade with Nike and Under Armour, working with global brands and some of the biggest names in sports. Duncan will bring that experience to David Weekley Homes to help connect brand and marketing strategy to the company’s broader business goals, identify new ways to reach customers and support long-term growth.

Both Duncan and Zylman are Rice University graduates with longstanding ties to Houston.

Zylman joins David Weekley Homes as longtime Chief Financial Officer Heather Humphrey prepares to retire after 33 years with the company. Since joining David Weekley Homes in 1993, Humphrey has held several leadership roles that helped shape the company’s financial and technological direction, including serving as both Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer. She also played an integral role in bringing employee ownership to David Weekley Homes Team Members through the company’s ESOP in 2018. Humphrey will remain involved during the leadership transition before continuing to support the company in an advisory role.

“Heather has made an incredible impact on David Weekley Homes over the past 33 years,” Brown said. “Her leadership and discipline have helped shape our company, but what I’ll appreciate most is the way she has always put Weekley and our people first. We’re incredibly grateful for everything Heather has given to this company and the lasting impact she’ll leave behind.”
