About Kelton Burgess
Kelton Burgess was born in Arkansas to a military family, and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned his undergraduate from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999 and his Law Degree from the Thomas Kline (formerly Duquesne University) School of Law in 2004. After law school, Kelton worked in San Francisco, CA at one of the largest litigation law firms in the world. In 2012 he shifted his practice to Estate Planning when he founded his own firm in San Francisco.
In 2015, he married his wife Sylvia, and when his daughter was born, he and his family left California and returned to his hometown of Pittsburgh. It was then he began working in the financial services industry as an in-house estate planning attorney. Kelton was given ring-side seats to the methods and strategies of the routine ‘Big Box’ financial services industry’s planning and retirement
strategies. It was in 2019 that Kelton knew he had to make a change. He knew there was a better way to serve his community, and it was then that he opened his own financial services firm.
Kelton continues to own and operate the region’s top-rated estate planning law firm, but in 2019, he also launched KMB Financial, LLC, which ultimately evolved into Cranberry Wealth. Cranberry Wealth is a full-service retirement planning firm focusing on comprehensive planning strategies for retirement and near-retirement individuals. Kelton is not the typical Financial Advisor, but rather he is a Qualified Retirement Professional. He brings over twenty years of legal experience, coupled with nearly a decade of experience working with advisors, as well as an Annuity Specialist® certification from the Institute of Business & Finance, in order to help Western Pennsylvanians navigate the complexities of retirement planning.
