FAIRFIELD, Conn., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Colony Grill, the Connecticut original known for its Famous Thin-Crust Pizza and signature Hot Oil topping, is continuing its expansion across Hartford County with two new locations planned for Newington and South Windsor, both scheduled to open in 2027. The announcement comes ahead of the opening of Colony Grill’s Glastonbury location and represents another step in the brand’s continued expansion across Connecticut, bringing its Hot Oil Bar Pies to more families and communities throughout the state.

Colony Grill Newington location rendering at 3260 Berlin Turnpike, featuring the restaurant’s exterior design and signage.

“These two towns represent exactly what Colony Grill is about,” said Paul Coniglio, CEO and co-owner of Colony Grill. “We’ve grown this concept around great pizza bringing people together—with teammates coming in after practice, families sharing a Bar Pie on a Tuesday night, or friends catching the game together. Newington and South Windsor have that same strong sense of local pride, and we’re excited not just to open restaurants there, but to become part of the fabric of both towns through the way we serve our guests, support local organizations, and show up for the community.”

The Newington location at 3260 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, CT will seat more than 175 guests with a large patio, and introduce Colony Grill’s first-ever fully private dining room. The dedicated space will provide a setting for team dinners, birthday celebrations, and the after-the-game get-togethers that have long been part of the Colony Grill tradition. The restaurant will also feature a full bar with twelve tap lines and several TVs for sports fans in a relaxed atmosphere.

“We’re excited to have a space in Newington that gives us even more opportunities to welcome guests in and make them feel at home,” said Ken Martin, COO and co-owner of Colony Grill. “The private dining room gives us a dedicated space to host milestone celebrations, corporate outings, and group dinners while delivering the same great pizza and hospitality that define the Colony Grill experience.”

The South Windsor location at 255 Gateway Blvd will bring the same simple, family-friendly Colony Grill experience to Buckland Gateway, a new mixed-use development featuring retail, dining and community spaces. This restaurant will also include Colony’s signature 12-tap bar and multiple TVs, along with seating for approximately 150 guests and an inviting patio offering a welcoming place for nearby residents, families, office workers, and visitors to enjoy Colony’s Famous Hot Oil Bar Pies.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Colony Grill to Buckland Gateway,” said Phoebe Sager, Principal of Sager Development. “Colony is exactly the kind of tenant we envisioned for the project—a great Connecticut brand with an incredibly loyal following and a strong commitment to the communities it serves. We believe they will be a terrific addition to South Windsor and an important part of making Buckland Gateway a place where people want to gather, dine and spend time. We’re very excited to have Paul and the entire Colony Grill team here.”

The two new locations are part of Colony Grill’s broader expansion across Hartford County and reflect the brand’s continued focus on bringing its distinctive Bar Pie experience into communities where family, sports, and local connection are central.
