Workers Demand Fair Wages, Stable Hours, and Respect on the Job
(WYOMISSING, Pa.) – At 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, Teamsters Local 429 members will go on strike at Sunnyside Dispensary after management refused to present a contract that fairly compensates the workers and provides stable scheduling. Sunnyside is a subsidiary of Cresco Labs, a large, publicly traded multi-state operator in the cannabis industry.
The strike highlights the growing strength of Teamsters in the cannabis industry, and follows another work stoppage in November, when Pennsylvania Teamsters won the longest-running successful cannabis strike in U.S. history.
