Female- and doctor-founded functional wellness brand builds on Amazon growth with a differentiated formula designed to help support muscles and joints while delivering zero-sugar hydration

SEAL BEACH, Calif., Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Bala Enzyme®, the doctor-founded functional wellness brand bringing a differentiated approach to everyday wellness, announces that its Bala Enzyme Hydration + Recovery Turmeric Drink Mix stick packs, featuring Pineapple, Lime and Berry flavors, are now available on Target.com.

The Target.com launch marks an important step in Bala Enzyme’s national retail expansion, building on its growing Amazon business and introducing the brand to a broader audience seeking functional health beverages that go beyond electrolyte replenishment.

Co-founded by husband-and-wife dental surgeons Dr. Farnoush Fadavi and Dr. Arash Aftabi, Bala Enzyme was inspired by Dr. Fadavi’s own experience recovering from a life-changing injury and her search for a convenient way to support her body’s inflammatory response as part of her daily routine. Unable to take NSAIDs, she drew on her decades of clinical experience to help develop a purposeful, plant-based hydration formula that also addressed muscle and joint support.

Unlike traditional electrolyte powders, Bala Enzyme’s patent-pending ENZYMX RECOVERY ACCELERATOR™ puts turmeric and plant-based enzymes (bromelain and papain) at the center of the formula to help support a healthy inflammatory response, alongside amino acids and essential electrolytes including sodium, potassium and magnesium to support hydration. Each serving has zero sugar, just 15 calories when mixed with water and no artificial coloring.

“As a doctor, I understood the importance of supporting both hydration and recovery, but as a patient, I wanted something natural, convenient and delicious that I could incorporate every day,” explains Dr. Fadavi. “That experience led us to create a formula that supports muscles and joints while also delivering tasty, zero-sugar hydration.”

Bala Enzyme is designed for everyday life. From exercise, athletics and active hobbies to travel, work and long days on the go, each portable single-serve stick mixes easily with water, making functional support simple to incorporate into a daily routine at home, at work, at the gym or on the go.
