Company outlines U.S. manufacturing roadmap and looks ahead to the future of spray drone technology

BOONVILLE, Mo., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Agri Spray Drones (ASD) today announced its evolution from spray drone distributor to agricultural drone manufacturer and technology company, taking years of firsthand operator experience upstream into product development, quality control, software, autonomous systems and U.S. manufacturing.

Agri Spray Drones announces future manufacturing plans, company direction.

The company also announces that its next spray drone platform—the first product in this new chapter—is in production, with additional details to be shared later this year.

“We have spent years training operators, dealers, and service providers – supporting them through spray season and learning what works in the field and what creates unnecessary friction,” said Taylor Moreland, founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones. “Now, we’re using those lessons to help shape the products, software and autonomous systems our customers will depend on next.”

Through its nationwide dealer network, training programs, technical support, robust parts inventory and relationships with operators, ASD has developed a close view of both the value spray drones provide and the challenges operators still encounter.

The company’s goal is not simply to manufacture a drone domestically. Greater control over quality, product development, software and supply chain will allow operator feedback to travel a shorter distance to the teams making product decisions—and give ASD more direct responsibility for the technology it supports.

ASD’s phased manufacturing roadmap includes:

  • 2026: U.S.-based quality control, small-batch assembly, select U.S.-designed components and U.S.-based servers.
  • 2027: A ramp toward full-scale assembly, U.S.-managed software, a new U.S.-designed frame, more U.S.-made electronics, and increased domestic component sourcing.
  • 2028: Expanded U.S. sourcing of critical components, with a target of critical components plus at least 65 percent of total drone cost made in the United States.

“We’re not asking anyone to confuse the first step with the finish line,” Moreland said. “We’ll be clear about where we are today and where we’re headed next.”

ASD’s upcoming platform serves as a bridge between the company’s distribution history and the increasingly ASD-controlled products that will follow. Built on a proven field foundation, it introduces targeted improvements informed by real-world operations, including more accurate and efficient application performance, more robust power connectivity, improved component durability and more intuitive serviceability.

The company’s longer-term vision extends beyond the aircraft itself. ASD is building an increasingly autonomous spray operation that reduces repetitive work between flights. Its Drone Dock has already begun addressing that goal by automating the refill process, greatly reducing operator exposure to chemicals and increasing operational efficiency.

“The future isn’t one autonomous drone. It’s an autonomous operation,” Moreland said.

Additional product details will be announced later this year. Sign up for updates at agrispraydrones.com/whats-next.
