What Happens When a Fast-Growing New York AI Startup Finds a Chinese AI Company Has the Same Name?

Moonshot AI, the autonomous website optimization platform, becomes Shuttlebase after an unexpected name collision creates confusion.

NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Founded in 2023 by Aviv Frenkel and Evyatar Segal, Moonshot AI previously operated under its name when the China-based Moonshot AI, behind the Kimi AI models, began its global expansion, creating a mix-up between the two unrelated businesses.

Because of the confusion, Moonshot AI is now Shuttlebase, marking a new chapter for the New York-based company.

“We didn’t plan on changing our name, but the collision forced us to think about what we’re actually building,” said Aviv Frenkel, Co-Founder and CEO. “Shuttlebase captures that vision. We want to build the launchpad that allows eCommerce brands to continuously improve and move faster.”

Behind the rebrand is a company tackling a fundamental problem in eCommerce. Brands spend heavily driving traffic to their sites, but improving what happens after a shopper arrives still requires a full team to manually test and optimize.

Unlike traditional experimentation platforms, Shuttlebase is an autonomous optimization system for eCommerce websites. It analyzes how shoppers move through a site, identifies opportunities, designs and codes the change, tests it against live traffic, and deploys the winner. Then it starts again.

“What we’ve built is not a smarter A/B testing tool,” said Evyatar Segal, Co-Founder and CTO. “It’s a system that understands a website and how visitors interact with it, identifies the opportunities most likely to make an impact, and actually builds and tests the change.”

The platform is trained on millions of real conversions. Each experiment informs future optimization, allowing Shuttlebase to learn from patterns across its network.

Shuttlebase has generated millions in measurable revenue uplift for brands including Credo Beauty, DefenAge, Kopari, Peter Thomas Roth, and P&G’s Farmacy Beauty.

Early results include:

  • DefenAge: +30% revenue per visitor and +14% conversion rate
  • Alembika: $114,000 from a single experiment and +10.5% purchase conversion

Shuttlebase has raised $10 million from Mighty Capital, Oceans Ventures, Uncorrelated, Garuda Ventures, and Almaz Capital.

“The next generation of eCommerce won’t be built around teams manually running a handful of tests every quarter,” said Frenkel. “It will be built around systems that are constantly learning, experimenting, and improving.”

Shuttlebase is headquartered in New York City.
