New campaign encourages Washingtonians to put their well-being first and connects people affected by problem gambling with free, confidential support.

OLYMPIA, Wash., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Washington Indian Gaming Association (WIGA), representing 24 federally recognized tribes across Washington, has launched a new statewide public awareness campaign to reduce the harms of problem gambling and connect individuals and families with free, confidential support.

The “Bet on Your Self” campaign builds on WIGA’s annual responsible gaming work, which the association has sponsored since 2021. This year’s campaign uses a positive, personal approach to challenge the stigma that can keep people from seeking support.

“We’ve made real progress breaking down the stigma around many mental health issues, but that stigma can still be a barrier when it comes to problem gambling,” said Rebecca George, Executive Director of WIGA. “Bet on Your Self reminds people that hope and help are available, and that asking for help is a sign of strength.”

The campaign will run throughout September (Responsible Gaming Education Month) across connected TV, YouTube, social media, search and programmatic display advertising, as well as WIGA’s communication channels.

The campaign is designed to reach frequent gamblers and concerned family and friends. It also aims to reach youth and young adults exposed to betting through gaming and emerging platforms including so-called “prediction markets.”

Washington tribes have long been leaders in responsible gaming and partners in addressing problem gambling. Through partnerships with organizations such as Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling, tribes support prevention, treatment and research throughout Washington, including the provision of culturally based care.

Help for problem gambling is free, confidential and available 24/7. Visit WashingtonTribesCare.org or call the Evergreen Council’s helpline at 1-800-547-6133.
