Maintaining its trusted local name and identity, Kentucky National Insurance Company secures Warrior Insurance Network’s advanced technology, product development resources, and specialized claims support.

BEDFORD PARK, Ill., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Warrior Insurance Network (WIN) announced the addition of Kentucky National Insurance Company (KNIC), a Lexington-based regional insurance carrier with deep roots in Kentucky and a longstanding commitment to independent insurance agents, policyholders and the communities it serves.

Warrior Insurance Network

The transaction expands WIN’s family of member insurance companies as part of its strategy to build a robust insurance network. In addition to KNIC, WIN member insurance companies include First Chicago Insurance Company, United Security Insurance Company, West Virginia National Auto Insurance Company, Texas Ranger MGA and Lonestar MGA.

WIN serves as a marketing organization focused on creating opportunities and improving results for its member companies. By coordinating branding and communications to independent producers, their agencies, and their customers, WIN helps its member P&C carriers and MGAs compete and grow.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome KNIC to the WIN family,” said James P. Hallberg, President and CEO, WIN. “What attracted us to KNIC goes well beyond an insurance license or a book of business. We saw a company with a proud Kentucky identity built on providing personalized customer service that aligns perfectly with our own core values.”

Since its inception, KNIC has embraced a hometown approach to insurance. From quote to claim, KNIC has sought to provide agents and policyholders with a distinct level of personalized quality service.

David Combs, CFO, KNIC, explained, “Our company has built its reputation on a philosophy that puts our customers first. We are driven by good people and have a deep commitment to community service. At our core, we are dedicated to providing secure insurance products, empowering our local agents, and delivering exceptional service to our agents and customers alike.”

Building on a Kentucky Tradition

WIN plans to preserve the KNIC name and its Kentucky identity, while providing the company access to the broader resources and capabilities of the Warrior organization.

These resources comprise enhanced technology, expanded underwriting capabilities, comprehensive marketing and specialized claims support. KNIC will also benefit from the extensive industry experience of WIN insurance professionals and member companies that have successfully delivered personal and commercial insurance products since 1920.

Hallberg added, “We respect what KNIC has represented in this market, and we also believe there is a significant opportunity ahead of us. Our goal is not to change what makes KNIC special. It is to strengthen it by combining the company’s local heritage and relationships with the financial resources, technology, and wealth of marketing resources WIN provides its member companies.”

A New Chapter Focused on Independent Agents

As part of the company’s next chapter, KNIC and WIN intend to actively engage Kentucky independent agents in helping shape the company’s future product offerings.

“Some of the best ideas in insurance don’t originate in a corporate office. Instead, they come from the agents who are talking with customers every day,” shared Brad Erdman, Vice President of Operations, Claims and Underwriting Officer, KNIC. “We have already begun meeting with KNIC agents. Those collaborative discussions have led to meaningful product improvements. We want our Kentucky agents to have a voice in what we build and how we can help make KNIC a better partner for their agencies.”

WIN expects KNIC to initially focus on strengthening and expanding its Kentucky operations while evaluating opportunities for additional products and future growth. An appointment with WIN can also open the door to additional WIN member company products available in neighboring states.

“This is about uniting two organizations that believe insurance remains a people business,” Hallberg concluded. “KNIC brings local heritage, strong relationships and a trusted reputation. Warrior brings added resources, technology and a proven insurance platform. Together, we believe we can create something exceptional for Kentucky’s independent agents and the customers they serve.”
