New Multi-Player Mode lets Friends Challenge Each Other, Reveal Real Cards, and Relive the Thrill of Collecting Together.
NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Trove, a collectibles app built to reconnect people with the feeling of collecting as a kid, has introduced Pack Battles, an industry-first multiplayer mode that transforms pack ripping into a head-to-head competition between friends, and other collectors on Trove.
Opening packs with friends has always been about sharing the excitement of the reveal and seeing who pulled the best card. Pack Battles brings that familiar excitement and friendly rivalry to Trove. Each participant opens a Trove pack containing a digitized version of a real, authenticated card held securely in the PSA Vault. Upon reveal, the collector who pulls the more valuable card wins both. If the cards have equal value, each person keeps the card they pulled.
“When we were kids, opening packs with friends was an event. You showed off your best cards, cheered on your friends, and made up games where bragging rights meant everything,” said Michael Katz, co-founder and CEO of Trove. “That’s the feeling we wanted to bring back with Pack Battles.”
Pack Battles is available now in Trove’s iOS app, with web availability coming soon. Collectors can challenge friends directly or face a randomly matched opponent, watch battles across the app, and compete for leaderboard standings and TroveCash rewards. And when a friend gets a little too comfortable celebrating, there’s always a rematch.
