Award-winning filmmaker Ky Dickens investigates children’s reported past-life memories, drawing on decades of research to explore what they might reveal about consciousness and life after death.
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Telepathy Tapes, the Webby Award-winning podcast created and hosted by filmmaker Ky Dickens, has launched its third season, The Reincarnation Records, which premiered October 7, 2026. The new season investigates extraordinary accounts of children who report memories of previous lives, exploring whether their experiences could offer clues to one of humanity’s oldest questions: Does consciousness survive death?
Following the podcast’s groundbreaking first season investigating reports of telepathy among nonspeaking individuals, Dickens turns to a question that repeatedly surfaced during her years of research and conversations with families: What if memory doesn’t begin at birth?
The Reincarnation Records introduces listeners to children who describe people they have never met, places they have never visited, and events that appear to belong to another lifetime. Through intimate family stories, historical investigations, and conversations with leading researchers, the series examines the evidence behind these accounts and the questions they raise about memory, identity, and consciousness.
“Reincarnation was never something I seriously considered,” Dickens says. “But as I began investigating these extraordinary cases and the decades of research behind them, I found myself questioning things I’d believed my entire life. This series invites listeners to follow that same journey, examine the evidence, and draw their own conclusions.”
Central to the investigation is the University of Virginia School of Medicine’s Division of Perceptual Studies, where researchers have collected more than 2,500 cases of children reporting memories of previous lives. Building on decades of work initiated by psychiatrist Dr. Ian Stevenson, the division continues to investigate recurring patterns in children’s statements, behaviors, and unusual physical characteristics, including birthmarks and birth defects reportedly corresponding to injuries sustained by deceased individuals.
The season brings together leading researchers and scholars from Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Virginia, spanning neuroscience, psychiatry, anthropology, and religious history. Featured experts include Drs. Akila Weerasekera, Marieta Pehlivanova, Philip Cozzolino, Julie Exline, David Spiegel, and Charles Stang, alongside reincarnation researcher Jim Matlock and author Carol Bowman. Together, they explore decades of research, extraordinary personal accounts, and the broader questions these cases raise about consciousness and life after death.
Beyond the individual cases, The Reincarnation Records examines broader questions about extraordinary abilities, healing, religious beliefs, and what may happen between lifetimes. Bringing together personal testimony, scientific inquiry, and perspectives from different cultural traditions, the season invites listeners to reconsider longstanding assumptions about the nature of consciousness and the boundaries of human experience.
The Reincarnation Records is available now as Season Three of The Telepathy Tapes. Listen wherever you get your podcasts and learn more at thetelepathytapes.com.
