New online action hub connects audiences with organizations promoting thriving childhoods, human connection, and people’s well-being in technology design
WASHINGTON, Oct. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This month, after people across the world watch the new award-winning documentary Your Attention Please—or the highly anticipated Aaron Sorkin film The Social Reckoning—they will be inspired to join the fight against the growing digital grip on our lives and prioritize a human-centered world. The Social Reset is their toolkit.
The Social Reset was created to answer the question “What can I do?” The new website is an online resource tool, featuring leading national and international organizations tackling the harms tech is causing in our homes, at schools, in workplaces, and across society, while helping people build stronger communities and prioritize authentic human connection. Users can learn more about the issues that matter most and find meaningful ways to get involved.
The Social Reset is a collaboration between the Institute for Families and Technology (IFT), the Your Attention Please filmmakers, and the Carson J. Bride Effect.
“We are creating a movement for change,” said Kristin Bride, a parent survivor advocate featured in the film and founder of the Carson J. Bride Effect, who has testified before Congress following the death of her son, Carson, from social media harms. “Everyone can do their part and can get involved, to show up at an event or learn something more. We can all find ways to reclaim our humanity.”
“People are growing tired of the outsized role tech plays in our lives and many are committing to change social norms and personal tech habits,” said Lina Nealon, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Institute for Families and Technology. “We created Social Reset for anyone who is unwilling to put up with the status quo any longer and who wants to act – but just may not be sure where to start.”
The Social Reset features:
- An Action Hub, where viewers can connect with organizations and coalitions and find meaningful ways to get involved in six different areas: Parenting in the Digital Age, Advancing Responsible Tech, Promoting Tech-Intentional Schools, Reconnecting Communities, Advocating for Accountability, and Pursuing Legal Action.
- A dynamic events calendar with opportunities to get engaged in virtual and in-person events across the U.S.
- Detailed information about the Your Attention Please documentary and how to access the film.
Each organization featured on The Social Reset provides different ways for those interested to help advance a culture that prioritizes people over tech profits and celebrates more authentic, in-person relationships.
“Your Attention Please exposes the human cost of the attention economy, and shows that we have the power to change it. The Social Reset is where that change begins: a gateway to a more connected, human-centered society in the digital age,” said Sara Robin, director of Your Attention Please.
