ASHEVILLE, N.C., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Mark L. Hoch, MD, MDiv. is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Professional of The Year for his contributions to Integrative and Holistic Medicine.

Mark L. Hoch, MD, MDiv. established a distinguished career in integrative and holistic medicine, recognized for blending evidence based Western medicine with whole person care that supports healing of the body, mind, and spirit. As owner of Mark L. Hoch, MD PLLC in Asheville, North Carolina, he provides comprehensive healthcare focused on empowering patients to take an active role in their health and well being.

Dr. Hoch is widely respected for his expertise in integrative and holistic medicine, nutritional medicine, osteopathic manual medicine, and family medicine for both adults and children. His practice addresses a wide range of health concerns, including hormone and metabolic health, osteoporosis and bone health, cardiovascular, thyroid, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal conditions, while also incorporating mind body healing approaches and psychophysical integration.

A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Neurobiology and Behavior, Dr. Hoch earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1988. He later completed a Master of Divinity in Spiritual Counseling and Healing from the University of Sufism and Spiritual Healing, further enriching his multidimensional approach to patient care.

Dr. Hoch was Board certified in Family Medicine and part of the inaugural group of physicians board certified in integrative holistic medicine in 2000. He has been a pioneer in the field since helping to set up and run the Arizona Center for Health and Medicine which was show cased in Life Magazine in the 1990’s.  His leadership has included serving as President of the American Holistic Medical Association in 2003 and Co-Chair of the Past Presidents Council for the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine.  He was also the Lead Physician and Chair of the Clinical practice committee at the Arizona Centers for Health and Medicine, on the clinical practice committee of the Atkins Center in NY City, Head of the Division of Family Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT, and Founding President of  Connecticut Holistic Health Association.

His long standing practice has incorporated osteopathic manual medicine since 1995.  Utilizing Dr. Still’s osteopathic principles of “It is the doctors job to find the health,” Dr. Hoch is able to diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions from brain injuries, musculoskeletal problems and organ dysfunctions.   Through his many thousands of treatments he has developed a gentle technique called neuro-fascial release to ease pain and restrictions of motion in a gentle way.  This came from decades of commitment to individualized, healing centered care.

His work has been recognized with honors including; Life Magazine doing a feature article on a The Arizona Center for Health and Medicine which he helped set up and run, being on the Expert Advisory Panel National Institutes of Health / AMSA,Complementary and Alternative Medical Education Curriculum implementation in 2002, being awarded a Bush Medical Fellowship in 2009 and noted as America’s Best in Medicine 2026. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys rollerblading and spending time in nature. He credits mentors Milton Trager, MD, Gladys McGarey, MD, Robert Anderson, MD, several Qi gong masters, and his Sufi Guide as important influences on his approach to healing and patient care.

Looking ahead, Dr. Hoch is focused on expanding the reach of his online course dedicated to preventing and reversing osteoporosis, and helping individuals and health professionals be proactive and focussed on real long term health.
