MILLERSVILLE, Md., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Coordinating Center, a statewide leader in person-centered care coordination, is proud to announce that it is now certified to provide Coordination of Community Services (CCS) on behalf of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA), in all regions across the state of Maryland.

Since becoming a CCS provider in the DDA’s Central and Southern Regions in 2020, The Coordinating Center has steadily expanded its geographic reach, adding the Eastern Region in 2022 and the Western Region in late 2025. Today, 859 Marylanders enrolled in DDA services have chosen The Coordinating Center for Coordination of Community Services, receiving person-centered support that promotes independence, community engagement, and self-determination.

“Coordination of Community Services is about building strong relationships and helping people access the resources and supports that align with their goals,” said Sherell Townes, Program Director, Coordination of Community Services for DDA. “As one of several CCS providers in Maryland, our commitments remain the same with our statewide expansion: emphasizing and promoting consumer choice in picking their care coordination agency and partnering with individuals and families to support informed choice, community connections, and the life each person wants for themselves.”

“With our expansion to statewide CCS, Marylanders who receive DDA services and participate in other Medicaid programs, such as REM (Rare and Expensive Case Management) and Community First Choice, can now choose The Coordinating Center to coordinate services across multiple programs,” added Sharyn King, BSN, RN, CCM, Senior Vice President of Population Health at The Coordinating Center. “Currently, 15% of the DDA participants we work with have chosen us to coordinate services across Medicaid programs. We know that having a single organization support care coordination across programs can help create a more connected experience for individuals and families as they navigate services and pursue their goals.”

Coordination of Community Services for DDA through The Coordinating Center can help families and individuals navigating DDA waiver eligibility determination, waiver enrollment, transitioning youth services, and self-direction, amongst others. To learn more, visit our website.
