Siesta Games’ tactical deckbuilder mixes cards, chess-style positioning and 4 playable factions in a dark fantasy world

PLYMOUTH, Mich., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Stardock Entertainment announced today that Empire in Decay, a unique roguelike deckbuilder developed by independent studio Siesta Games, is joining its portfolio as the second title signed under Stardock’s expanded publishing program. Coming to Steam in early 2027, Empire in Decay combines classic chess style tactical movement with more than 200 cards, across four playable factions.
Set in a dying empire on the brink of collapse, Empire in Decay gives players the chance to lead one of four playable factions in a rebellion to claim the throne. Players must both attack the enemy while defending against them in skirmish matches. Enemy units who make it to your end of the board will begin to wipe out your followers and the losses carry over between rounds! Lose all of your supporters and the game is over.
Players control both main and secondary factions as they do battle, starting with the Damerites and the Guild. The Groundbreakers Society and Soul Harvesters factions can be unlocked via gameplay as players progress through the campaign. Each faction brings unique special abilities and cards, giving you a multitude of deck building options.
