The honor recognizes the pioneering hip-hop artist’s legacy of advocacy, including her efforts to raise awareness, engage members of Congress, and urge passage of the American Music Fairness Act.

She reengaged with legislators again this summer, visiting members of Congress to continue to press for passage of AMFA.
