Oilers alumnus Louie DeBrusk and mascot Hunter join the September 26 community event at the Sherwood Park dealership
SHERWOOD PARK, AB, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Sherwood Ford will host Ford × Oilers Dealer Days on Saturday, September 26, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at its Broadmoor Boulevard dealership, bringing together Edmonton Oilers personalities, local families and community fundraising in support of A Safe Place, Strathcona County’s emergency shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
Fundraising for A Safe Place Emergency Shelter for Women and Children
A Safe Place, operated by the Strathcona Shelter Society, has supported more than 25,000 women and children since it opened in 1984. The organization runs an emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis and family violence information line, community outreach and public education programs serving Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and rural Strathcona County.

Ford x Oilers Dealer Days will fundraise for A Safe Place, including a $30 per-test-drive contribution to the organization. “A Safe Place has been part of this community for more than forty years, and we support the work they do,” said Chris Suvanto, Sherwood Ford General Sales Manager. “We wanted an event that brings people to the dealership for a good afternoon and leaves something behind for the people who need it most.”
A Fundraising Event for the Family
The afternoon features an appearance by Edmonton Oilers alumnus and broadcaster Louie DeBrusk, along with Oilers mascot Hunter. Guests can test-drive current Ford models, take part in activities for all ages and enter to win prizes throughout the event.
