16th annual conference, hosted by the Marcellus Shale Coalition, returns to Erie Sept. 22-24

ERIE, Pa., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — In less than a week, leading industry executives, subject experts, influential labor voices and senior policymakers are poised to kick off the annual Shale Insight conference. The gathering comes at a crucial time for the Appalachian region and nation: unprecedented growth in energy demand fueling speculation about how the energy needs of today and tomorrow will be met.

The 16th annual SHALE INSIGHT® Conference, taking place September 22-24 at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, will provide a unique opportunity to hear directly from C-suite experts and hyperscale investors on how Appalachian natural gas – the largest producing basin in the nation – is the keystone to meeting these challenges.

Sessions at SHALE INSIGHT® 2026 are aimed at tackling the most consequential questions facing the energy industry today, with the agenda focused on meeting increased demand and navigating the roadblocks to do so safely and successfully.

“Appalachian natural gas is powering the next chapter of American growth, from the factories reshaping our industrial base to the emerging technologies that underpin our entire economy,” said Jim Welty, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition. “The leaders gathering here will determine what gets built next, what policies must change to make it possible, and how this region’s energy advantage creates lasting opportunity for the country and our allies around the world.”

The conference will examine the biggest issues and opportunities facing the industry this year: from permitting reform and the legal and regulatory implications of EPA’s 2026 rescission of the Endangerment Finding, to emissions management and defensible data practices, community engagement strategies, and developing the next generation of workforce through immersive technology.

An agenda that spans critical issues from the wellhead to the burner tip, features speakers that include U.S. Senator Dave McCormick; the U.S. Department of Energy’s James P. Danly; Meta’s Director of Energy Supply, Etta Lockey; executives from Expand Energy, EQT Corporation, the American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC), the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), ClearView Energy Partners, and the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry. International Brotherhood of Boilermakers leaders Timothy Simmons and Shawn Steffee will also address the conference on workforce and the strong partnership between the energy sector and the trades.

Fireside chats, including senior leadership from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, will highlight the future of Appalachian natural gas and the upstream-to-midstream dynamics shaping America’s energy supply chain.

In addition, attendees will explore the cutting edge of energy innovation through the SHALE INSIGHT® Technology Showcase and the University Research Showcase.

With a sold-out exhibit hall of operators, vendors, and service providers, and attendees from across the nation and beyond, SHALE INSIGHT® 2026 delivers unmatched networking alongside the industry conversations that matter most.

Check out the Conference schedule and speakers and connect with Conference sponsors to learn more about this exciting event.
