AUBURN, Maine, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Scott & Jon’s (www.scottandjons.com), the frozen seafood brand known for raising the standard for convenient and accessible seafood meals, is bringing a comfort food classic to the freezer aisle with the launch of Homestyle Tuna Noodle Casserole. The new meal marks Scott & Jon’s first tuna offering, delivering the craveable taste and comforting flavors of the classic recipe while packing 21g of protein that cooks to perfection in just four minutes.

The launch comes as consumers increasingly seek familiarity and nostalgia in classic comfort foods. The National Restaurant Association named comfort foods the No. 2 overall trend in its 2026 What’s Hot Culinary Forecast, noting that familiar classics offer consumers a sense of nostalgia and emotional connection. “Comfort and value are the twin pillars shaping America’s menus right now,” said Dr. Chad Moutray, chief economist for the National Restaurant Association. “Consumers are seeking meals that deliver joy and familiarity without breaking the bank.” *
Scott & Jon’s Homestyle Tuna Noodle Casserole brings that comfort-food experience to today’s consumer with a recipe inspired by the way you’d make it at home. Al dente egg noodles, crisp-tender peas and chunk light tuna are cooked in a creamy sauce made with real milk, cream and cheddar cheese, then topped with seasoned breadcrumbs for the perfect crispy bite. Each meal has 21g of protein and 3g of fiber, all under 500 calories.
But Scott & Jon’s didn’t just set out to create a more modern take on the dish; the company wanted to make one that consumers thought tasted better.
In a blind central location test conducted among 103 consumers, Scott & Jon’s Homestyle Tuna Noodle Casserole was preferred 2-to-1 over a leading brand. Scott & Jon’s performed significantly higher across every flavor measure tested, including overall flavor, tuna flavor, pasta flavor, sauce flavor and vegetable flavor. Strong scores for tuna flavor, seasoning, and pasta flavor and texture were among the biggest drivers of the difference.**
“Tuna noodle casserole is one of those meals that immediately feels familiar. It’s the kind of comfort food many of us grew up eating,” said Jon Demers, co-founder and co-CEO of Scott & Jon’s. “We saw an opportunity to take everything people love about the classic and make it fit the way they want to eat today. Most importantly, it had to taste great. Seeing consumers prefer our recipe two-to-one over the leading brand gave us tremendous confidence that we had created something special.”
The launch also marks a new chapter for Scott & Jon’s as the company adds tuna to a seafood lineup that has historically focused on shrimp, salmon and white fish. Homestyle Tuna Noodle Casserole fits the need for those looking for satisfying, familiar meals that deliver the indulgent experience consumers want from comfort food alongside the protein, quality ingredients and convenience they increasingly expect.
Scott & Jon’s Homestyle Tuna Noodle Casserole is available this fall at select retailers, including Giant Eagle, Weis, Schnucks, Big Y, Market Basket and Nugget. As distribution expands, the product locator will be updated (www.scottandjons.com/find-us).
