Patent-pending methodology combines geospatial, hydrologic and ecological modeling to streamline early-stage project screening

BELLAIRE, Texas, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — RES (Resource Environmental Solutions, LLC), the nation’s largest dedicated provider of nature-based solutions, today announced the launch of EcoSite IQ, a proprietary methodology developed to help clients identify, evaluate and prioritize environmental projects.

RES delivers nature-based solutions at scale, including ecological restoration, environmental mitigation, water quality improvements and coastal resiliency. By uniting ecological science, engineering, and long-term land stewardship, RES helps public- and private-sector partners address complex regulatory requirements and achieve voluntary ecological objectives.

RES evaluates opportunities early, helping clients understand the environmental and technical conditions that shape a project and developing solutions aligned with their goals. RES specialists guide projects from early feasibility analysis and restoration planning through construction and long-term stewardship. RES also provides consulting services for ecosystem portfolios, helping clients compare opportunities across properties, watersheds or broader geographies and prioritizing investments based on potential environmental benefits, feasibility and project objectives.

EcoSite IQ applies predictive analytics and automated geospatial modeling to this field-tested foundation. The system synthesizes terrain, hydrologic, engineering and ecological data to assess broad geographic regions simultaneously. By rapidly screening large areas, EcoSite IQ allows RES to focus technical diligence on project sites with the highest ecological and economic value.

Initial applications of the methodology centered on water-resource initiatives, screening for projects capable of delivering verified hydrologic benefits. Early deployments have surfaced individual opportunities with estimated annual water yields between 26 million and 665 million gallons. RES is already expanding EcoSite IQ to evaluate water quality credits, watershed restoration, riparian habitats and terrestrial biodiversity.

“EcoSite IQ increases assessment accuracy, helping our clients make sound capital decisions across their land assets by evaluating project viability faster and with greater precision,” said Roger Wiederkehr, CEO of RES. “By combining historical field data with hydrologic and geospatial models, we provide clients key information to prioritize land and water investments across entire geographies.”

Traditional environmental site evaluation relies heavily on manual desktop reviews and individual parcel checks, which restricts the search radius and slows feasibility assessments. EcoSite IQ automates early data synthesis, expanding the screening footprint while uncovering viable restoration opportunities that conventional methods often overlook.

RES has filed a provisional patent application for the EcoSite IQ methodology and continues to expand the system’s analytical capabilities and underlying datasets.
