Presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District (BBID), the annual fall festival returns with an expanded carnival experience, the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) Broward Student Pie Baking Competition and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Spotlights’ musical Trick-or-Treat Trail

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Pumpkins, palm trees and plenty of fall fun return to Fort Lauderdale Beach as the 6th Annual Pumpkins & Palm Trees Fall Festival, presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District (BBID), takes over Las Olas Oceanside Park.

Las Olas Oceanside Park, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida

The free-admission, family-friendly celebration brings autumn to the beach with a full day of complimentary activities and experiences. FREE activities include festival admission, an interactive photo station sponsored by Stoked on Salt, hands-on exploration aboard the MODS STEMobile, the Broward Center Spotlights Trick-or-Treat Trail, Balloon Artistry sponsored by SoFlo Community Markets, lawn games with candy prizes and the Oceanside Community MKT.

Building on last year’s carnival theme, families can add to the experience with two optional wristband choices, both offering unlimited access to the festival’s inflatable attractions, including the Carnival Circus Bounce, Climb and Slide, Harvest Corn Maze, Big Top Bounce House and 3-in-1 Sports Challenge, plus five classic carnival games — Bank a Ball, Baseball Toss, Down a Clown, Knock Down and Magic Ring Toss. The five classic carnival games offer plush prizes for participants to take home.

A $10 Carnival Wristband includes the full carnival experience. For just $2 more, the $12 Carnival Wristband + Pumpkin includes the same carnival access plus one pumpkin to decorate at the Coastal Wealth-sponsored decorating station. Pumpkins are available while supplies last.

Wristbands are available for purchase in advance, allowing families to plan ahead and get straight to the fun when they arrive. Families interested in the pumpkin decorating option are especially encouraged to purchase in advance, as pumpkins are available only while supplies last. Wristbands will also be available for purchase onsite the day of the event.

Returning as one of the festival’s signature traditions is the 6th Annual Student Pie Baking Competition, presented by FRLA Broward. Aspiring student bakers will put their skills to the test in a sweet showdown celebrating the next generation of South Florida hospitality and culinary talent.

“FRLA Broward has been proud to support the Student Pie Baking Competition since its beginning six years ago and to watch both the competition and its young participants grow,” said Rozeta Mahboubi, Chapter Director, FRLA Broward. “Creating opportunities for students to develop their culinary skills, gain real-world experience and connect with the hospitality community is an important investment in the future of our industry. We look forward each year to seeing the creativity and talent these students bring to the competition.”

Another returning favorite puts a musical spin on trick-or-treating. During the Broward Center Spotlights Trick-or-Treat Trail, costumed youth performers will be stationed along the trail, treating families to songs from productions featured in the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ current season as children make their way station to station collecting treats.

More free fun includes the interactive photo station sponsored by Stoked on Salt, Balloon Artistry sponsored by SoFlo Community Markets, hands-on exploration aboard the MODS STEMobile and lawn games with candy prizes. Families can also enter for a chance to win a free bike from Freeride.

“Pumpkins & Palm Trees has become a wonderful fall tradition on Fort Lauderdale Beach, bringing families, residents and visitors together to enjoy our destination in a fun and memorable way,” said Lisa Namor, BBID Chair and General Manager of Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach – a Doubletree by Hilton. “The BBID is proud to continue supporting an event that creates experiences for our community while showcasing all that Fort Lauderdale Beach has to offer.”

Attendees of all ages are encouraged to come dressed for the season and make a day of it, with the Oceanside Community MKT open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. alongside the festival activities.

  • Oceanside Community MKT: 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Student Pie Baking Competition: 10 a.m.–noon
