NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Proudly Human has appointed Alexander Gow as Managing Director, North America. An ARIA Award-winning songwriter, he was previously Head of Audio at leading Australian newspaper The Australian Financial Review, where his work was recognized with a Walkley Award.

“Alexander Gow has joined Proudly Human on its urgent mission to protect human created content in a world where AI is masquerading as human. The diverse artistic experience Alexander brings to the role and his writing about the impact of generative AI on the creative arts make him the ideal candidate to lead the business in North America,” said Trevor Woods, CEO. “There is no time to waste. This is a global issue, and we must act globally to protect the provenance of creators’ work and give audiences the ability to choose.”

The accelerating pace of change with AI is beyond anything the world has seen. METR’s time-horizon research shows AI capability is roughly doubling every four months . This means AI will be over 100 times more capable in two and a half years.

Alexander Gow is responsible for expanding Proudly Human’s North American operations, raising visibility with creators and audiences, and consulting with policymakers and industry. Based in Nashville, he started on August 17, 2026, and has been working in New York, Washington D.C. and Atlanta.

“Every day AI-generated songs are polluting streaming services, smothering human-created music, and stealing market share from the very people whose music it was built on,” said Alexander Gow.

“I am a beneficiary of great music and the creative arts. In this vulnerable moment they both require a concerted conservation effort so that they might continue to enrich our lives. This is why I have joined Proudly Human.”

Gow said, “The backlash to undisclosed AI material in the United States is palpable. From music venues to book clubs and on social media, the culture is demanding the right to choose human-created art. I am committed to working to provide that right.”
