Europe’s leading HR and payroll platform for SMEs earns independent verification of its social and environmental commitments
MUNICH, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Personio, Europe’s leading HR and payroll platform for small and medium-sized businesses, is now a Certified B Corp. The certification, administered by the global nonprofit B Lab, independently verifies a company’s social and environmental performance, governance, and transparency toward its workers, customers, and community. Personio completed the B Impact Assessment and achieved certification following B Lab’s independent verification process in August 2026. It joins a community of more than 4500 Certified B Corporations across Europe, among them Personio customers such as RECUP, Ecosia, Tomorrow, and Fairphone.
Responsibility toward employees and the wider community has shaped how Personio operates since its early days. This commitment is reflected in Personio’s workforce policies, its approach to responsible governance, and its work helping SMEs navigate Europe’s complex employment and payroll requirements.
That same instinct led Personio to set up the Personio Foundation in 2021, committing one percent of the company’s equity to nonprofits working on climate action and education. On top of the one percent, 15 NPOs globally have already received over €4M in impact grants from the Personio Foundation. This led to 3.3 Million tCO2 carbon stocks protected and 90.000 people provided with access to education.
Personio.org extends this further, giving nonprofits and public-sector organisations discounted access to the platform. The B Corp certification now shows that these values hold up across the whole business.

The B Impact Assessment under V1.6 evaluates a company’s impact across five areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Certified B Corps are required to make their B Impact score and profile publicly available, supporting transparency and accountability.
