Former Palo Alto Networks President and Google Cloud co-founder to accelerate Omnissa’s momentum and lead company into era of agentic endpoints

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Omnissa, a leading digital work platform company, today announced the appointment of Amit Singh as CEO, effective immediately. With over 35 years of experience, Singh has helped build some of the world’s most consequential enterprise technology platforms, including serving as President of Palo Alto Networks and as a co-founder and President of Google Cloud. He succeeds Shankar Iyer, who recently stepped down as CEO to pursue other opportunities.

Amit Singh, Omnissa CEO

“I am thrilled to join Omnissa at such a pivotal moment for the company and the industry,” said Amit Singh, CEO of Omnissa. “Omnissa has established itself as the clear leader in digital workspace technologies, with a world-class platform, an incredible team, and a customer base that includes some of the world’s most demanding enterprises. The shift to agentic AI is transforming how work gets done, and the endpoint is at the center of that transformation. I look forward to leading this team as we continue innovating and delivering products that will help our customers and partners manage and secure this next era of work.”

Omnissa is the clear leader in the fast-growing digital workspace and endpoint management market, serving more than 15,000 enterprise customers and tens of millions of endpoints. The company’s platform spans unified endpoint management, virtual desktops and applications, digital employee experience, and endpoint security, and was recently ranked number one across all four use cases in Gartner’s inaugural Endpoint Management Tools 2026 report. Omnissa recently launched a new suite of AI-first innovations giving customers greater visibility and control in an increasingly autonomous workspace.

With AI agents redefining how enterprise work gets done and the endpoint emerging as the critical security control plane, Singh brings the experience and vision to build on Omnissa’s strong foundation and help the company define the era of agentic endpoints.

“Within a year, every laptop and phone an enterprise manages will be an agentic endpoint, running dozens of AI agents acting with the identity and permissions of the person they work for,” added Singh. “The last time a new kind of actor arrived uninvited in the form of phones and personal devices, enterprises extended the management platform they already had rather than building a new one. Agents are a similar shift. Omnissa already has the agent on the device, the credentials, the traffic, the telemetry and the remediation; our job now is to extend all of it to the agent and make it safe for CIOs and CISOs to say yes.”

“Amit has helped build two of the defining enterprise platforms of the last 20 years,” said Angad Singh, Co-Head of Software Private Equity in North America at KKR and a member of Omnissa’s Board of Directors. “Omnissa manages the devices where enterprise work happens. The company is uniquely well positioned as AI agents increasingly handle that work and every enterprise considers how to safely harness AI technology. Amit is the right leader to help Omnissa make the most of this tremendous opportunity.”

Amit Singh recently served as President of Palo Alto Networks. During his tenure, the company grew fivefold in market value, launched multiple new billion-dollar businesses, and became the world’s first $100 billion cybersecurity company. Prior to that, Singh spent nearly a decade at Google, where he was a co-founder and President of Google Cloud. He began his career at Oracle, where over two decades he held roles across product, engineering, sales and strategy. Singh is also the founder of abovecloud9.ai, which applies AI to expand access to meditation and mental well-being programs in partnership with the Art of Living Foundation. He holds a master’s degree in industrial and management engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering.
