Nathan Khider understands better than most that success isn’t always a straight line.
Today, he is the Founder of Nathan K Real Estate, an independent London property consultancy with more than 20 years’ experience in residential sales and lettings. He has become a regular commentator on the housing market, sharing his insight on everything from rising rents and leasehold reform to stamp duty, planning policy and the challenges facing buyers and sellers.
His journey that brought him here was far from straightforward.
Nathan left school at the age of 15 without GCSE qualifications. This made Nathan determined to create opportunities for himself and began building a career in property from a young age. It started a journey that ultimately defined his career.
Nathan said: “I’ve always believed property is about people first.
“Behind every sale or purchase is a family, an ambition or someone trying to build a better future. That’s what has always interested me.”
Life, however, did not go as he planned. Nathan experienced homelessness and spent time living in his car, a time in his life that he has spoken openly about and one that forced him to rebuild both his personal life and his career. Rather than allowing the experiences to define him, he used them as motivation to move forward with more determination.
He said: “Those experiences changed my perspective completely. They taught me resilience, gratitude and the importance of never taking anything for granted.”
Nathan believes those difficult years influenced the way he approaches both how he works and his life.
He said: “They taught me that setbacks don’t have to define your future. What matters is how you respond to them and whether you’re prepared to keep moving forward.”
Over the years, Nathan has built a reputation for offering honest advice in an industry that can feel overwhelming. Whether helping first-time buyers, growing families, or overseas clients looking to purchase in London, he believes trust and transparency should be at the heart of every transaction.
For Nathan, property has never been about just completing deals.
Nathan said: “It’s one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make. My responsibility is to help clients make those decisions with confidence, knowing they have someone acting in their best interests.”
That same approach has also made Nathan a regular media commentator. Drawing on more than two decades in the industry, he regularly shares his views on the issues shaping the housing market, from affordability and supply shortages to leasehold reform and government housing policy.
He said: “I’ve always believed people deserve honesty. The property market has challenges, and pretending otherwise doesn’t help anyone. My job is to explain what’s happening so people can make the best decision possible.”
While the market has changed significantly throughout his career, Nathan believes one thing has stayed the same: property is ultimately about helping people move forward with their lives.
He said: “Whether someone is buying their first home, downsizing, relocating or investing for the future, every property has a story behind it.”
Nathan continues to lead Nathan K Real Estate while advising clients across London’s competitive property market. Alongside his day-to-day work, he is committed to sharing practical insight that helps buyers, sellers, and landlords better understand the housing market.
Nathan says success means something very different to what it once did.
He said: “It’s no longer about chasing the next transaction; it’s about building something with honesty, earning people’s trust and helping them make that’s right for them and their future.”
For Nathan, every challenge has become part of the journey. From leaving school at 15 and rebuilding his life after homelessness to becoming a respected figure within the property industry, his story is proof that resilience, determination and hard work can open doors that once seemed firmly closed.
