In a complete podium sweep for team Monster Energy, 19-year-old Toa Sasaki from Mie, Japan, claimed second place in the high-stakes final. Completing the takeover, 25-year-old Giovanni Vianna from Santo André, Brazil, claimed third place.

Also on Saturday, the Women’s Skateboard Street final saw 17-year-old Liz Akama of Miyagi, Japan, claim third place facing a stacked international field of riders.

On October 3, SLS Paris 2026 presented by Winamax brought the world’s best male and female street skaters to the iconic Stade Roland-Garros in Paris for the fifth stop of the 2026 SLS Championship Tour. As the only European stop on this year’s calendar, the French capital transformed the famous French Open tennis venue into a custom professional street-skateboarding arena for nearly 10,000 spectators.

Here is how the action unfolded for Team Monster Energy at SLS Paris 2026:

In the Men’s Skateboard Street final featuring eight elite riders, Nyjah Huston dropped in as a seven-time SLS SuperCrown World Champion with 27 career wins in SLS events under his belt. Freshly returned from injury and facing a new generation of young contenders, Huston was ready to battle for yet another win.

In his second attempt in the Run section, Huston earned a Nine Club score with a stacked line. Covering the California Skateparks-designed course with nollie heelflip backside lipslide the kink rail, kickflip backside disaster the quarter pipe, kickflip the bump, backside Smith grind transfer the hip rail, switch frontside kickflip the bump to bump, backside 180 nosegrind the Euro Gap rail, backside overcrook the curved rail, nollie backside heelflip the Euro Gap, and switch heelflip frontside boardslide the kink rail earned Huston 9.2 points.

When the action moved into Best Trick attempts, Huston maintained his grip by finessing a switch frontside heelflip tailslide the kink rail for 9.1 points. On the next attempt, Huston earned the third consecutive Nine Club score of the final by landing a technical frontside nollie heelflip noseblunt slide the kink rail for 9.2 points, taking a dominant lead over the rest of the field.

Cementing his victory on the third Best Trick attempt, Huston sent a huge switch frontside flip over the bump to flat for 8.9 points. With a total score of 36.4 points that no other rider could match, Huston claimed a dominant victory.

“The wins keep getting better and more rewarding,” said Huston after claiming the victory at SLS Paris 2026, adding: “You really can’t take anything for granted at this point. We’re out here. Still got it. Let’s go!”

Saturday’s win at SLS Paris 2026 marked Huston’s 28th SLS victory after 16 years of competing in the competition series. “Talking numbers, I do want to get to thirty wins, and this is a step closer to that. The motivation is just my love for skateboarding. I love all sorts of skateboarding, but I also have this competitive side to me, and that’s what keeps me going,” said Huston, adding: “It’s an addiction. Not just the feeling of winning, but also the feeling of landing a sick trick and the crowd being hyped.”

Huston now holds first place in the 2026 SLS Super Crown season rankings with 47 points.

Huston’s closest competition came from Japanese upstart Toa Sasaki. Putting together a perfect second Run in the final featuring frontside 180 switch feeble 180 out the kink rail, frontside noseblunt the quarter pipe, 360 kickflip the bump, frontside nosegrind transfer the hip rail, massive backside 360 ollie the bump to flat, frontside blunt the quarter pipe, nollie heelflip the bump, Caballerial backside lipslide fakie the kink rail, and backside noseblunt slide the Hubba ledge earned Sasaki 8.7 points.

Moving into Best Trick, Sasaki put down a Caballerial backside noseblunt slide fakie the kink rail for 8.9 points. On the second attempt, he stoked the crowd with a nollie 180 nosegrind back to regular the kink rail for 8.6 points.

When the final came down to the fifth and final attempt, Sasaki found himself in third place with a chance to improve his spot with a banger. And he did! Landing a nollie frontside heelflip noseblunt slide the kink rail netted Sasaki a Nine Club score of 9.2 points and bumped his total to 35.4 points for second place.

Rounding out a full podium sweep for the team, Giovanni Vianna from Brazil started strong in the Run section by stringing together a backside overcrook the flat rail, nollie backside big spin the Euro Gap, Half Cab frontside 5-0 the kink rail, frontside feeble transfer the hip rail, heelflip frontside boardslide the Euro Gap rail, switch crooked the Hubba ledge, and Caballerial frontside noseslide fakie the kink rail for 8.8 points on his first attempt.

In the Best Trick section, Vianna had the Paris crowd on its feet by landing a powerful boardslide up the kink rail from flat, earning a Nine Club score of 9.0 points. On his third attempt, Vianna earned another Nine Club entry with a frontside Half Cab backside Smith grind the kink rail for 9.0 points, and a total score of 26.8 points for third place.

On the strength of Saturday’s podium finish, Vianna now holds second place in 2026 SLS Super Crown rankings with 45 points.

Earlier on Saturday, the Women’s Skateboard Street event saw Liz Akama from Japan go head-to-head against the most competitive riders on the circuit. In the Run section, the Olympic silver medalist put together a backside lipslide the kink rail, frontside 180 backward 50-50 the ledge, frontside feeble grind the flat rail, frontside big spin the bump to bump, backside Smith grind the kink rail, and crooked grind the rail for 7.2 points.

In Best Trick, she landed a technical Barley grind to straight on the kink rail for 7.8 points on her first attempt. On the fourth attempt, she punched her ticket to the podium by sending a frontside heelflip bigspin over the bump to bump for 7.6 points, for a total of 30.5 points and third place.
