Iconic frozen-treat brands extend into flavored coffee through licensed collaborations with Java Factory, bringing some of America’s most recognizable ice cream truck favorites to the coffee cup
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The ice cream truck is coming to the coffee aisle.
Klondike®, Good Humor® and Popsicle® are entering the coffee category through limited-edition officially licensed collaborations with Java Factory, bringing some of America’s most recognizable frozen-treat brands to the coffee cup as part of Java Factory’s Flavor52 program.
The collaborations headline Ice Cream Truck Season, the second themed season of Flavor52, Java Factory’s year-long effort to introduce 52 new coffee flavors over 52 consecutive weeks.
The collection includes coffees inspired by Creamsicle®, Klondike®, Popsicle® Firecracker, Good Humor® Chocolate Éclair and Good Humor® Toasted Almond, alongside additional frozen-treat-inspired flavors and original Java Factory creations. All are made with specialty-grade 100% Arabica Brazilian coffee.
For Java Factory, the idea goes beyond making coffee that happens to taste like ice cream.
It is about taking something people already know and love and giving it a completely different way to experience it.
“The idea that you can wake up and drink a coffee inspired by a Klondike bar, a Good Humor Chocolate Éclair or a Popsicle Firecracker is exactly what Flavor52 is about,” said Sam Blaney, Executive Vice President of Java Factory. “We’re taking flavors and brands people already have an emotional connection to and putting them somewhere they never expected to find them: their coffee cup.”
And there may be no better place to start than the ice cream truck. For generations of Americans, the sound of an approaching ice cream truck meant one thing: stop whatever you were doing and find some money.
“The ice cream truck is one of those rare shared childhood experiences that crosses generations. It doesn’t matter whether you grew up in Brooklyn or Boise,” Blaney said. “You hear the music, run inside for whatever change you can find, and hope the truck hasn’t disappeared before you get back. We wanted to capture that feeling and bring it to Monday morning.”
From the Ice Cream Truck to the Coffee Cup
Ice Cream Truck Season begins September 14, with a new flavor released each Monday.
The current release schedule includes:
- September 14: Klondike®
- September 21: Raspberry Italian Ice
- September 28: Popsicle® Firecracker
- October 5: Good Humor® Chocolate Éclair
- October 12: Good Humor® Toasted Almond
- October 19: Mystery Halloween Flavor
The season also includes additional frozen-treat-inspired releases, including Creamsicle® and Breyers® Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
Rather than treating flavored coffee as a category with a few predictable seasonal launches, Java Factory is borrowing from the way today’s most innovative food categories operate: limited-edition drops, collaborations, nostalgia and constant discovery.
“While some companies may introduce pumpkin spice once a year, we’re delivering a new discovery every seven days. Flavored coffee shouldn’t have a season. It should have a calendar,” Blaney said. That philosophy is at the core of Flavor52.
Over the course of the year, Java Factory is releasing 52 flavors across six themed seasons:
Throwback Collection
Ice Cream Truck
Sweater Weather
Wild Ones
Just Desserts
The Finale
Consumers can follow the releases throughout the year and vote on the flavors they believe deserve to stay through the leaderboard on www.javafactory.com. The highest-rated coffees will have the opportunity to become permanent additions to the Java Factory lineup, while others will retire when Flavor52 concludes.
Bringing Collaboration Culture to Coffee
The licensed collaborations represent a larger ambition for Java Factory: bringing the culture of limited editions, brand collaborations and constant flavor innovation that has transformed categories such as ice cream, snacks and candy into flavored coffee.
“Look at what has happened in snacks and candy,” said Steven Schrieber, President of Java Factory. “Those categories are constantly creating something new for consumers to discover. Coffee has largely been operating on a much slower cycle. Flavor52 is our belief that flavored coffee can be just as creative, collectible and exciting.”
The program is also part of Java Factory’s effort to establish a Guinness World Records title for the most unique coffee flavors launched by a coffee brand within a single year. Flavor52 is scheduled to conclude at the 2027 Summer Fancy Food Show, where Java Factory plans to unveil its final flavor.
The Flavor Behind the Flavors
Behind the 52 releases is a longstanding product-development collaboration between Java Factory and Flavor & Fragrance Specialties (FFS), a division of Lucta.
FFS flavor specialists work directly with the Java Factory team to develop, test and refine new concepts, including nostalgic desserts, frozen treats and licensed brand collaborations.
The objective is not simply to add a flavor to coffee. It is to translate the sensory character of something familiar into an entirely different format.
That means considering the aroma, taste, coffee itself and the memories associated with the original inspiration.
About Java Factory
Java Factory is redefining what flavored coffee can be. Built on specialty-grade 100% Arabica Brazilian coffee, Java Factory combines bold flavor innovation, licensed collaborations and limited-edition releases to turn coffee from a daily routine into an experience built around discovery.
Through Flavor52, the company is introducing 52 flavors over 52 consecutive weeks, inviting consumers to follow the journey and help determine which creations become part of the permanent lineup.
Java Factory’s ambition is simple: make flavored coffee one of the most exciting categories in food.
