KANSAS CITY, Kan. , Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — KanEquip JCB is rolling into the Kansas City market with a new location dedicated to JCB equipment sales, parts and service, expanding the company’s ability to support JCB customers throughout the region.
The Kansas City location marks the first JCB-only dealership for KanEquip, Inc., a 14-location equipment dealer organization with roots dating back to 1967, when the company began as Meinhardt Farm Equipment.
Founder Jim Meinhardt established KanEquip, Inc. in 1999. In 2019, his sons, Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt, acquired majority ownership and have continued to grow the business, expanding its presence and representing a full complement of equipment brands serving agricultural and construction customers.
From Wheel Loaders to a Full Line of JCB Equipment
KanEquip’s relationship with JCB began in 2019 with a focus on the manufacturer’s award-winning wheel loaders and telehandlers. Since then, JCB has grown into one of KanEquip’s major equipment brands, second only to its CNH product lines, Case IH and New Holland.
In 2025, KanEquip was recognized by JCB as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers in the world.
“We were able to pick up the line in 2019. We really thought it would be just some wheel loaders and some telehandlers, and it’s grown much beyond that,” said Grant Meinhardt, Vice President/General Manager of KanEquip JCB.
Kansas City Opportunity Built Around People
The sale of CSTK (Central States Thermo King) to Trane, Inc. created an opportunity for KanEquip JCB to enter the Kansas City market while continuing to provide local support to JCB customers.
JCB products are currently offered at six KanEquip locations across Kansas. The Kansas City location represents the company’s first dealership dedicated exclusively to the JCB brand.
For KanEquip, however, entering the Kansas City market was about more than adding another location. The company saw an opportunity to build on its long-standing relationship with former CSTK employees and bring their experience and knowledge of JCB equipment to the new operation.
The two companies worked alongside one another for years, and Meinhardt said retaining experienced employees was the key factor in KanEquip’s decision to enter the market.
“They’ve had employees there since 2014. They know what they are doing. They had a good representation as far as the rental house market. If we can save those guys, we have something,” Meinhardt said. “That’s really what we were going after in the Kansas City market — the employees. We were able to save a number of the employees, and we’re really blessed to have them because they are very good at their jobs.”
Continuing a Commitment to Customer Support
The new KanEquip JCB location will provide customers throughout the Kansas City area with equipment sales, parts and service support.
Customers can expect the same level of service, support and professionalism that KanEquip has built its reputation on across its locations, backed by the resources of the larger KanEquip organization.
Building for the Future
The Kansas City expansion represents a significant next step for KanEquip, Inc. as the company continues to grow its relationship with JCB and expand its presence in Kansas.
The company also sees the expansion as an opportunity to create jobs, develop new customer relationships and become an active member of the Kansas City business community.
