Former CEO of The Fine Art Group and Senior Executive at Sotheby’s and Christie’s Joins Julien’s as the Auction House Accelerates International Expansion and Brand Growth
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Julien’s Auctions, the world-renowned auction house at the intersection of entertainment, music, fashion, luxury and cultural history, today announced the appointment of Ken Citron as Chief Executive Officer. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s continued global expansion, which includes the recently announced launch of Julien’s Celebrity & Culture Week — an immersive multi-day experience coming to Abu Dhabi featuring museum-quality exhibitions, live auctions, and exclusive programming.
Citron joins Julien’s following his tenure as CEO of The Fine Art Group, bringing more than two decades of leadership experience across the art, auction, media and global business sectors. As CEO, he will work alongside Julien’s executive leadership team to guide its next stage of growth and expand its international footprint.
“I’m thrilled to join Julien’s Auctions, a company that has built an incredible reputation for innovation, authenticity and putting its clients and collectors first. Julien’s has been at the center of some of the most recognizable people and moments in entertainment history, and pop culture is truly part of the company’s DNA. I’m excited to work alongside this talented team as we build on that legacy, continue to evolve the brand and find new ways to ensure Julien’s remains relevant, innovative and connected to culture today.” — Ken Citron, CEO, Julien’s Auctions
At The Fine Art Group, Citron oversaw advisory, private sales, art finance and collection management services for more than 350 family offices across 28 countries. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer at Sotheby’s and as Chief Operating Officer at Christie’s, where he spearheaded a company-wide digital transformation. Early in his career, he held senior roles at Sony Music and Rodale Inc., and began in consulting at Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse. He holds a B.S.E. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.
Citron’s appointment underscores Julien’s commitment to the leadership and global strategy needed to strengthen its position as one of the world’s most innovative and culturally influential auction houses.
