Former Wells Fargo and J.P. Morgan executive brings more than 25 years of healthcare payments, revenue cycle, treasury management, and product development experience to accelerate Itemize’s healthcare innovation.

NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Itemize, a leading provider of AI Finance Operations solutions, today announced the appointment of Doug Airulla as Product Manager, Healthcare Operations & Revenue Cycle. In this market-facing role, Airulla will lead the development and advancement of Itemize’s healthcare solutions for providers, payers, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) organizations and healthcare business process outsourcing companies.

Airulla brings more than 25 years of experience across healthcare payments, revenue cycle services, treasury management, product development and enterprise sales. He joins Itemize from Wells Fargo, where he served as Executive Director and Senior Product Solutions Specialist, advising healthcare organizations on revenue cycle and treasury management solutions. Throughout his career, Airulla has helped close more than $60 million in revenue by translating complex healthcare payment and operational challenges into actionable technology and process strategies.

Previously, Airulla spent more than 20 years at J.P. Morgan, holding leadership roles across healthcare payments, receivables product development and treasury management. He served on the launch team for J.P. Morgan’s Healthcare Link® solution and helped lead its go-to-market strategy across the commercial bank. He also contributed to the development of Receivables Edge, a web-based receivables information platform.

In his new role, Airulla will define and advance Itemize’s healthcare product roadmap and commercialization. His work will focus on applying Itemize’s AI and line-item intelligence capabilities to high-volume healthcare workflows, including claims ingestion, classification and adjudication support; payment posting and remittance processing; reconciliation and denial management; and correspondence classification and healthcare records processing.

“Doug brings a rare combination of healthcare revenue cycle expertise, payments knowledge, product experience and commercial insight,” said James Thomas, Founder and CEO of Itemize. “He understands how financial transactions, documents and data move across providers, payers, banks and revenue cycle organizations. That perspective will be instrumental as we build solutions that address the operational complexity, accuracy requirements and regulatory expectations of the healthcare industry.”

The appointment underscores Itemize’s continued investment in healthcare financial operations. Itemize enables healthcare organizations to transform unstructured claims, remittance documents, medical records, correspondence and supporting documentation into structured, actionable data. By connecting document intelligence with financial and operational workflows, Itemize helps organizations reduce manual processing, improve accuracy, accelerate reimbursement and strengthen compliance and auditability.

“Healthcare organizations continue to face significant operational challenges caused by fragmented systems, high document volumes, complex payment workflows and increasing pressure to improve financial performance,” said Airulla. “Itemize has developed an approach that brings intelligence directly into the workflow rather than adding another disconnected technology layer. I am excited to help shape solutions that make healthcare financial operations more efficient, accurate and transparent.”

Airulla is a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative through the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). He holds a Master of Science in Marketing and Communications from Franklin University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Capital University.
