Investment from the Huntington Bank Community Foundation to expand access to homeownership, housing stability and financial literacy
ATLANTA, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Huntington National Bank (Huntington) today announced a $1 million commitment from the Huntington Bank Community Foundation to Westside Future Fund (WFF) to support down payment assistance, financial literacy education, rental assistance and anti-displacement programs designed to benefit Atlanta’s historic Westside.
The investment builds on previous support provided to WFF by Cadence Bank, which merged with Huntington earlier this year. The foundation’s funding also underscores Huntington’s continued commitment to strengthening the communities it serves by investing in financial empowerment, housing stability and economic vitality.
“The Westside holds a special place in Atlanta’s history, which is why Huntington is proud to carry forward Cadence’s relationship with Westside Future Fund,” said Randy Schultz, Huntington’s regional president for Atlanta and a member of WFF’s board of directors. “Fostering strong communities is central to our purpose as a bank, and we are honored to serve Atlanta and to give back in ways that help the city continue to thrive.”
Created in 2014, WFF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of five historic Westside neighborhoods: Ashview Heights, Atlanta University Center, English Avenue, Just Us and Vine City. WFF’s work is rooted in its mission of restoring the Westside without displacing the community’s longtime residents.
The foundation’s funding will be distributed equally among three WFF programs that serve individuals and families who earn less than 80% of the median family income. WFF will use the funds to provide down payment assistance for homebuyers and to support rental assistance, anti-displacement tax fund and financial literacy education and counseling programs.
“We are grateful for the Huntington Bank Community Foundation’s investment in Westside Future Fund as our organization continues to advance the vision residents helped set for the historic Westside,” said John Ahmann, president and CEO of WFF. “This support will meaningfully expand resources for homeownership, housing stability and financial literacy education in service of the priorities residents have shaped.”
