HONG KONG, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On 7 September 2026, Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited recently announced the results of its 2026 sustainability ratings for listed companies, with the related index adjustments taking effect today. Fosun International Limited (HKEX stock code: 00656, “Fosun International”, “Fosun” or the “Group”), in recognition of its continued commitment and outstanding performance in sustainable development, has had its Hang Seng Sustainability Rating upgraded from AA- to AA+, marking a record high. The Group was also selected as a constituent of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index for the seventh consecutive year and included as a constituent of the Hang Seng ESG 50 Index. After three consecutive years at the AA‑ level, this latest upgrade underscores strong market and regulatory recognition of Fosun International’s long-standing practices and continued progress in environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) performance.

The Hang Seng Sustainability Rating has a broad coverage, encompassing approximately 500 Hong Kong‑listed companies that are constituents of the Hang Seng Composite Index, as well as more than 1,300 A‑share companies that are constituents of the Hang Seng China A (Investable) Index.

The Hang Seng Sustainability Rating is based on the sustainability rating framework of the independent professional assessment body, the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA). It evaluates listed companies on seven core indicators, including corporate governance, environment, and fair operating practices, to identify outstanding performers in sustainability. In 2026, Fosun International delivered particularly strong performance in Corporate Governance, Environment, Consumer Issues, and Community Involvement and Development, ranking among the top 10% of participating HK-listed companies in each of these areas.

In recent years, Fosun International has continued to strengthen its ESG management system and has delivered strong results across major global ESG ratings. To date, under the latest MSCI ESG Ratings 5.0 methodology, Fosun International’s MSCI ESG Rating has been upgraded to the highest rating of AAA. It was included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 and was also named among the Top 1% in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2026 for the third consecutive year. Additionally, Fosun International’s FTSE Russell ESG score has consistently been higher than the global industry average and it has remained a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series for five consecutive years.

Fosun International regards sustainable development as both a key responsibility and a strategic goal, leveraging ESG rating requirements to drive management improvements and further embedding sustainability considerations into strategic decision-making, daily operations, and risk management processes. The Group and its member companies continue to strengthen their capabilities and execution in managing sustainability-related issues. At the same time, Fosun International actively supports China’s “dual carbon” goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, advancing initiatives in carbon neutrality, energy conservation, emissions reduction, and climate risk management. In 2026, the Company published its fourth Climate Information Disclosures Report, further enhancing the systematic approach and transparency of its climate‑related disclosures.

Looking ahead, Fosun International will continue to uphold its founding aspiration of “Self-improvement, Teamwork, Performance, and Contribution to Society”, integrating sustainability into long-term business development and value creation. The Group will further strengthen its ESG management system and leverage the synergies of its global industrial ecosystem. Through these efforts, Fosun International will continue to strengthen corporate resilience and sustainable development capabilities, creating long-term value for shareholders, customers, employees and society.
