Fair Isaac shareholders who lost money when the stock fell on the FHFA’s mortgage credit score announcement may have the right to seek recovery. An investigation into potential securities law violations is now underway.

NEW YORK, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE: FICO) stock opened down more that $172 per share, or over 20%, after the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced changes that could allow a direct competitor to the FICO score into mortgage underwriting. If that decline hit your account, you have rights, and acting promptly can help protect them. FICO shareholders who lost money are encouraged to request a free review of their losses , or to contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. via email at jlevi@levikorsinsky.com  or by telephone at (212) 363-7500.

Levi & Korsinsky, LLP

After-market on September 28, 2026, the FHFA said it would simplify mortgage pricing and could open underwriting to a competing credit score. Just a few hours later, Rocket Mortgage announced it would “become the first mortgage lender to use VantageScore 4.0 as its preferred credit scoring model for all eligible loans” following “four months of testing.”

FICO’s management had previously contended that they “anticipate[d] no loss of volume to Vantage in this fiscal year,” and continued to assert through July that a “VantageScore by itself” is insufficient, it “doesn’t really get you there,” and it is only “additive to the market.”

Levi & Korsinsky’s investigation is evaluating whether FICO shareholders have grounds to recover these losses under the federal securities laws. You do not need to still own your shares to have your losses evaluated. There is no cost to come forward, and no minimum loss is required.

Bought FICO and now holding a loss? See whether you may be eligible to recover , or call (212) 363-7500 to speak with the firm directly.

Frequently Asked Questions About the FICO Investigation

Q: Which statements are being investigated as potentially misleading?  A: The investigation concerns whether Fair Isaac Corporation made materially false or misleading statements regarding regulatory and competitive risks to its mortgage credit scoring business. The stock price declined sharply when the Federal Housing Finance Agency announced changes that could allow a competing credit score into mortgage underwriting.

Q: When did Fair Isaac Corporation allegedly mislead investors? A: The investigation concerns whether statements made before the FHFA announcement caused investors to purchase FICO securities at inflated prices.

Q: What do FICO investors need to do right now?  A: Investors may gather brokerage records showing purchase dates, share quantities, and prices paid. Submit your information for a no-cost, no-obligation evaluation of your potential recovery . No immediate action is required to remain eligible to participate in the investigation.

Q: What documents do I need to participate?  A: You will need brokerage statements or trade confirmations showing purchase dates, share quantities, prices paid, and any later sale dates and prices.

Q: What if I already sold my FICO shares — can I still recover losses?  A: Yes. Eligibility is based on when you purchased, not whether you still hold the shares. Investors who bought FICO and sold at a loss may still participate in the investigation.

Q: What does it cost me to participate?  A: There is no upfront cost to submit your information and review whether you may be eligible to recover. If you choose to participate in any resulting action, these matters are generally handled on a contingency basis. Any attorneys’ fees and expenses are subject to court approval.

Q: Do I need to go to court or give testimony?  A: No. Participating in the investigation does not require court appearances or depositions. If legal action is later pursued, the overwhelming majority of affected investors never appear in court either.
