— Longtime Richmond-based advisory firm enters next chapter under Smith + Howard name, combining familiar regional relationships with broader national capabilities —

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Fahrenheit Advisors, the Richmond-based management consulting and advisory firm that has served businesses and organizations throughout the region and across the country for the past 16 years, today announced that it will begin operating under the Smith + Howard name, marking the next phase of its integration with the nationally recognized assurance, tax, and advisory firm.

Smith + Howard

The transition follows Smith + Howard’s acquisition of Fahrenheit, announced in December 2024, and represents another step in the firms’ integration. For Fahrenheit clients, the change means continued access to the same professionals, relationships, and high-touch service they know, now backed by Smith + Howard’s broader capabilities across assurance, tax, advisory, and specialized services.

“This new chapter brings together the relationships and personal service that have defined Fahrenheit from the beginning with the broader capabilities and resources of Smith + Howard,” said Keith Middleton, Head of Smith + Howard’s advisory practice and co-founder of Fahrenheit. “Becoming Smith + Howard allows us to build on what we’ve created while giving our clients access to a significantly broader range of expertise. It is an opportunity to do even more for the organizations we have been privileged to serve, both here in Richmond and across the country.”

Founded in Richmond in 2010 by Middleton and Rich Reinecke, Fahrenheit grew from its Virginia roots into an advisory firm serving middle-market, private equity-backed, nonprofit, and government organizations in the region and nationwide. Its services include business advisory, finance and accounting, human capital consulting, executive search, and interim and fractional leadership solutions.

As the Fahrenheit name transitions to Smith + Howard, its leadership is also taking on broader roles within the combined firm. Middleton leads Smith + Howard’s advisory practice nationally, overseeing advisory services across the firm’s locations. Reinecke will serve as Growth Operating Partner, focused on driving new business, expanding client relationships, and strengthening commercial effectiveness across the organization.

“Fahrenheit earned a strong reputation in Richmond because of its people, relationships, and commitment to client service,” said Sean Taylor, CEO of Smith + Howard. “Bringing the team fully under the Smith + Howard name allows us to build on that foundation while extending the impact of their expertise across our firm. Fahrenheit’s clients — whether they are here in Richmond or elsewhere across the country — will continue working with people they know and trust while gaining access to a broader organization and expanded capabilities as their needs evolve.”

The Fahrenheit Advisors name and brand will transition to Smith + Howard across its website, digital channels, and other communications beginning October 27, 2026. Clients will continue working with their existing contacts, and the Richmond-based team will remain deeply engaged in the local business community while serving organizations throughout the region and across the country.
