EZ-UP Aurora Preserves the Cannabis Flower Experience While Automating the Work Around It

BOSTON, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cannabis industry has spent years making consumption easier. Vape cartridges reduced preparation. Pre-rolls added convenience. Electronic devices introduced greater control.

But for people who prefer real combustion experience, convenience can come with a tradeoff. When flower is heavily processed instead of naturally burned, the experience starts to move away from the very qualities people value the most: authentic aroma, flavor, visibility, and ritual.

Spark Perceptions believe there is another path.

Its upcoming product, EZ-UP Aurora, is built around a simple idea:

Preserve the flower combustion. Automating everything else.

EZ-UP Aurora is an automatic combustion device for whole flower and dry herbs. Instead of transforming them into oil or another format, it combines automatic feeding, controlled combustion, and ash collection inside one enclosure.

Users still choose their flower. The device handles the rest. The goal is not to remove the ritual, but the friction around it.

Whole flower is everything

For experienced consumers, the flower matters: how it looks and smells, how it was cured, its freshness, and how its flavor develops into puffs.

That quest is difficult to fulfill once the flower has become something else.

Aurora keeps flower centric while automating the repetitive tasks around it. Technology serves only one purpose, preserving the traditional flower consumption experience.

One load, multiple hits

Traditional flower consumption comes with a familiar rhythm: pack it, light it, enjoy the sesh, clear the ash, then do it all over again.

Aurora approaches that process differently. Prepared flowers are loaded into the device and automatically fed into a dedicated combustion area in calculated portions. One load can support multiple hits without placing the entire amount in the active zone at once.

With only a smaller portion exposed to heat, users have greater control over when material is consumed. Between hits, the system limits unnecessary burning rather than leaving a larger bowl smoldering. That can mean less waste and better material efficiency.

Ash and residuals are then collected separately, making room for the next feed. Feeding, combustion, and ash collection work together as a single process.

Automation without losing the ritual

“Automation” can suggest removing the human element. That is not the idea here.

Taking Modern espresso machines as another example, it automates dosing, temperature, pressure, timing, and cleaning, yet serious coffee drinkers still care deeply about the beans, their freshness, aroma, and flavor.

The technology does not replace the material. It manages the process around it.

Spark Perceptions sees whole flower consumption similarly. Consumers still choose, see, smell, and prepare it. What they may no longer need to do is repeatedly feed a chamber, manage combustion by hand, clear ash, and start over.

The ritual stays. The repetitive work becomes one click.

A different direction for cannabis hardware

“Many innovations have focused on how flower is heated. We ask a broader question: What if the device managed the entire process around it?” said Dr. Roger Gong, CEO of Spark Perceptions.

That means considering where the material is stored, how much enters the combustion area, when it is heated, what happens between hits, and where the ash goes. It points toward a device that manages the whole process autonomously and vertically integrates a heavily manual process into one connected system.

Spark Perceptions plans to begin mass production of EZ-UP Aurora in October 2026, bringing the concept into commercial production.

For consumers interested in where whole-flower technology revolves next, this will be the one to watch.

Let’s make the flower centric technology thrive and enjoy the sesh hands free.
