Tax industry veteran will contribute practitioner and software-industry perspectives to the federal advisory committee

FRANKLIN, N.C., Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Drake Software today announced that Amanda Watson, EA, Onboarding and Retention Manager, has been appointed to the Internal Revenue Service’s Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC).

Amanda Watson

Established by Congress in 1998, ETAAC provides public input on the development and implementation of the IRS’s electronic tax administration strategy. Its members represent a cross-section of the tax community, including tax professionals, software developers, state tax officials, cybersecurity experts, financial institutions and consumer groups. The committee also makes recommendations related to electronic filing, taxpayer experience, identity theft and refund fraud.

“Being selected to serve on ETAAC is a tremendous honor,” said Watson. “I look forward to contributing the perspectives of tax professionals and sharing insights from my work with Drake customers. This is an important opportunity to help advance secure, efficient electronic tax administration while ensuring the needs of practitioners and taxpayers remain central to the conversation.”

Watson is an Enrolled Agent and tax industry veteran who leads Drake Software’s customer onboarding and retention efforts. She is also an experienced educator and speaker known for making complex tax topics practical and accessible to tax professionals.

Amanda brings deep tax expertise, and a firsthand understanding of the challenges tax professionals face every day,” said Joe Albert, Senior Vice President of Sales at Taxwell. “Her appointment is a well-deserved recognition of her experience, and we are confident her practical insight will help advance ETAAC’s important work.”

Watson will serve a three-year term beginning in September 2026.
