Live Southern California filming will give audiences practical strategies to protect memory, mood, brain health and their future
COSTA MESA, Calif., Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Twenty years after bringing brain health education to public television audiences, psychiatrist and bestselling author Dr. Daniel Amen is returning to the public television stage for a milestone new special, BRAIN RESCUE: The Amen WHOLE-4 Solution to Protect Your Memory, Mood, Health & Future.
The program will be filmed before a live audience on October 7, 2026, at First Christian Church of Huntington Beach and marks Dr. Amen’s 20th public television special.
For decades, Dr. Amen has used public television to make the science of brain and mental health accessible to families across the country. His previous programs have explored memory, happiness, mental health, parenting and practical ways people can support healthier brains throughout their lives. Public television stations around the country have carried his programs, including Memory Rescue and Raising Mentally Strong Kids.
Now, BRAIN RESCUE brings those lessons together through the Amen WHOLE-4 approach, which focuses on four interconnected areas of health: Brain & Body, Mind, Relationships and Spirit.

A Milestone 20 Years in the Making
The live filming will also celebrate two decades of Dr. Amen’s public television programming and give Southern California residents an opportunity to be part of the studio audience for the new special.
Following the program, Dr. Amen will participate in a live audience Q&A.
The event begins at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday, October 7, with filming scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the Q&A.
