Virtual consultation program scaled to 20 hospitals in six months, bringing Mass General Brigham academic subspecialists to community & rural emergency departments, with expansion for additional service lines & clinical specialties planned.

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Andor Health announces that their virtual specialist consultation program, powered by ThinkAndor®, now connects clinicians at more than 20 hospitals with Mass General Brigham specialists. Serving community and rural hospitals across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and upstate New York, the program supports emergency telestroke, subacute telestroke, and urgent and routine teleneurology needs.

AI-powered ThinkAndor® curates a virtual command center to manage all virtual experiences.

The program extends academic specialty expertise to community and rural hospitals, helping patients receive timely guidance closer to home.

“Mass General Brigham has an extraordinary depth of clinical expertise, and this collaboration shows what is possible when that expertise extends beyond the walls of the academic medical center. Together, we are creating a model that gives more hospitals and communities access to the specialists they need while building the infrastructure to scale across sites, specialties, and care models,” said Pritesh Patel, President and COO, Andor Health. “This is where healthcare is going, with leading health systems using AI-native clinical services to expand access and capacity while delivering high-quality care closer to home. We are thrilled to continue expanding this collaboration as Mass General Brigham extends tele-newborn care.”

Scaling specialty access without adding complexity

ThinkAndor® automates the coordination required to route and complete virtual specialist consultations, from the initial order through specialist assignment, escalation, and documentation.

Referring clinicians request a consultation through their existing electronic health record. From there, ThinkAndor® automates the workflow, identifying specialists who are licensed, credentialed, and on shift, escalating unanswered requests, and assembling relevant patient information.

Once the consultation is complete, documentation is returned to the source electronic health records system. Sites without an established interface can begin through a standalone workflow.

The result is significantly greater capacity without additional coordination staff. Within six months of go-live, the program is on pace for more than 16,000 consultations annually, almost 70% greater throughput than before the collaboration.

“At Mass General Brigham, one of our missions is to improve the health of the communities. This program is one important way we can bring that mission to life by extending specialty expertise into neighborhoods and hospitals where those services may not otherwise be available,” said Rebecca G. Mishuris, MD, MPH, MS, Chief Health Information Officer at Mass General Brigham. “By connecting local clinicians with Mass General Brigham specialists in real time, we can help more patients receive expert guidance close to home, reduce unnecessary travel or hospital transfers, and support community hospitals in delivering high-quality care for the people they know best.”

Mass General Brigham and Andor Health jointly designed the clinical workflows, escalation paths, and documentation standards behind the program, creating a model based on real-world, clinical and operational experience, that can expand across sites and specialties without adding new manual processes.

“Mass General Brigham has pioneered teleneurology care for years, helping lead the development and expansion of telestroke and teleneurohospitalist services across the country,” said Marcelo Matiello, MD, MSc, FAAN, executive vice chair of the Department of Neurology at Mass General Brigham. “We have demonstrated how virtual neurology can improve access, speed of care and outcomes for patients who may not otherwise have immediate neurologic expertise available. Our next-generation teleneurology and telestroke system builds on this experience and marks an important evolution of this work.”
