Frontline personnel and contractors deploying to help support Florida Power & Light with
expected outages along the Florida Gulf Coast

HOUSTON, Oct. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — To help support customers and communities impacted by Hurricane Isaias along the Northwest Florida Coast, CenterPoint Energy crews are heading out to play an important role in helping neighboring communities recover by restoring Hurricane Isaias-related outages. Through a mutual assistance effort supporting Florida Power & Light, CenterPoint has deployed 105 line workers and released approximately 150 contractor line workers and 100 vegetation management personnel to assist with restoration efforts in Pensacola. The combined workforce is expected to support restoration efforts over the coming days.

“Since we first began monitoring what would become Hurricane Isaias late last week, our team has been preparing diligently, tracking the system and taking proactive steps to support the customers and communities we serve across Greater Houston,” said Jason Fabre, Vice President of Distribution and Special Response. “Today, we are proud to answer the call for mutual assistance and support our neighboring communities in other states during their time of need. Our team of 355 CenterPoint employees and contractors will bring the same commitment, focus and dedication to restoring service for customers across the Florida coast as we do here at home.”

Supporting Our Neighbors in Florida
Mutual assistance is a hallmark of the utility industry. Utility companies regularly help one another following major storms and other emergency events. When another utility needs support, crews may be requested and deployed to assist with damage assessment, repairs and power restoration. Likewise, when our customers are impacted by outage events, utilities from across the country may answer the call to support restoration efforts. These partnerships help utilities restore service safely and more quickly, strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities, and support a coordinated approach to restoring power for customers and communities.
